lol.. I was hoping you were going to post some youtube videos of a song or two.. As of this moment, I only know one song that I like from the Dropkick Murphys.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ip-COzs42LQ

Funny story behind that song, my Music professor told me there was not a rock version of that song.. I proved her wrong!

Same goes for Wheezer..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOyc3gyL5GA

And the Smashing Pumpkins.. Man, I love most of their earlier work and a few songs off of Zeitgeist; but the album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness has to be my favourite of their albums. The rest of your music I do not know or listen to.. I know System of a Down, but I don't really listen to them.

Goo Goo Dolls Greatest Hits Vol 1 The Singles --> I think this CD has been on repeat about 100 times since I put it in the car. Love every song on the album.

...and the reason there is any CD in the car is cause I cancelled my XM Radio subscription. About the only reason I was an XM customer was because of the decades stations. Sirius merged with XM and took over the 80's station. Then in come the "VJ's" from MTV in the 80's. Alan Hunter has got to be the most annoying bastard I have ever listened to. For that reason alone I went back to my own music (CD's, iPod).

Just finished listening to Daniel Silva's latest spy thriller "Portrait of a Spy" If you like spy novels you can't beat this series.

Just started Mary Roach "Packing for Mars".

I listen to books from Audible.com. I get 2 books a month for $16.00. Plus they have specials where you can get books on sale.

I use my phone for listening to books more than talking.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4OFM9QQD_Y
System of a Down, probably one of the best live bands I've ever seen (twice), Rage Against the Machine being a close second if not a tie:

That's what's in my car's cd player right now too! :thumbup2: I hope the hints Dave Stewart is dropping about also producing Fleetwood Mac's new EP/album turn out to be true... I think he did a fine job with Stevie's album.

My fav album of 2011 so far is Joseph Arthur's Gradation Ceremony. I've followed Joseph for 10 years now, and I think this is his best work yet.

Anything 80's... Currently actually the OST of that quirky 80's style lovestory "Take me home tonight" I have a library of 80's songs on my phone to listen to while I drive the forklift at work too. I am rocking the 80's.

But I also like a lot of Vietnam era stuff, Queen and more current stuff as limp bizkit and linkin' park. I can listen to a lot of stuff, but when I can not understand the words anymore or a rap is screaming ethnicity I turn off the radio.

Hello - Martin Solveig and Dragonette
Firework - Katy Perry
The Way It Is - Bruce Hornsby and the Range
Your Love - The Outfield
The Sun Always Shines on TV - a-Ha

Firework by Katy Perry is a great video if you want to talk about positively influencing people:

Not to overuse the "I'm not trying to be a dick" phrase... so... I'm not trying to be a dick when I say this, but where exactly in your first post (above) did you indicate all the RULES for how we are supposed to post on your thread?

If you wanted to share your love of music, and learn more about what others enjoy as their love of music, then why does it only have to be one type of music? AC/DC, Zepplin, Metallica... Hewy Lewis, Duran Duran, Outfield... Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry... if someone really gets a kick out of listening to Christmas music or the theme music to some cheesy TV show or commercial, then sweet, post it here.

Everyone has something different that they like to chill out to. For sure me, or Chad, or Sean, or Farrar, or whoever are going to enjoy some of the same tunes, and for sure some totally different from each other. If you don't like the tunes someone posted, use that extra special button on your keyboard labelled as "PAGE DOWN" to move on to the next one :)

The first part, you are 100% correct, that was on me for failing to post my guidelines. You are incorrect about restricting this to one type of music, I was only responding to the part where HE mentioned Rock and Roll.. "isn't that what rock and roll is all about" To which I countered that statement by bringing up Katy Perry.. et cetera..

Today:

Gabriel Fauré: Fantaisie for Flute
Wolfgang Mozart: Serenade No. 6
Manuel de Falla: Suite No. 2 from "The Three-Cornered Hat"

AntonĂ*n Dvorák: Songs My Mother Taught Me
Sir Alexander MacKenzie: Twelfth Night
Alexander Borodin: Polovtsian March from "Prince Igor"
Aaron Copland: Rodeo
Sir Edward Elgar: Serenade for Strings
Joseph Haydn: Symphony No. 12
Josquin des Pres: Kyrie
Anton Arensky: Quatre Morceaux, Op. 25

Richard Strauss: Til Eulenspiegels Lustige Streiche
Sergei Prokofiev: Symphony No. 1 "Classical"

Re-read my previous post. My reference to "RnR" was not intended to limit anyone to one genre of music. Rather it was to do with "being a rebel", as in that is how RnR (in all its widespread glory) started, by being a rebel and not listening to your parents music.

My form of rebeliousness in this thread will be to post more than two videos. :wave2: That's all.

Until it was abruptly removed from a certain satellite radio service Tuesday, 95% of my music exposure the last 5 and a half years came from BBC Radio 1. Now I just stream it online, but the time shift for the Eastern time zone was much more convenient. While I miss the announcers and feel of the station more than the music, it still influences my musical selections. You may not know some of these:

Chase & Status. This one features Tinie Tempah:

I like a few of their songs.. Needs more attitude for my tastes, but nonetheless is great music! I have had people before ask me what I was listening to in my car, and it happened to be Nirvana.. I asked them if they knew any songs that were not off the Nevermind album; to which they almost always reply "I like Smells like teen spirit" I just facepalm.. For me, it is not about the big hits, but it seems rare to meet like minded people. I know I am ranting for no reason, but you should know that is what I do best in my menial existance.. lol Any of you guys ever heard of this site..

You guys need to update your music repertoire. Man, is that stuff old! I'm all for classics, but I can't listen to the same 5 cds for 30 years. Haha.

Even if you like 80's metal, there are new bands out that have a similar sound. I'm more of a modern rock/metal guy, but check out these guys....

Need to update? I have a very diverse selection of music, you just don't know all of it. Does it really matter when a song was released, so long as it rocks?

Rammstein! If they had that when I was younger I might have put more effort in my German courses.

I am listening to different DeLorean exhaust kits on YouTube because my car's exhaust is rusting so badly that even my girlfriend noticed it.

Good bass line and hot chicks! Scary fat dudes though............. Me, I like a Canadian band that never made it big in the US, but certainly did in Germany. SAGA.

Spitty, those are fat-suits. They're not this fat, even for germans. It is to add drama to the clip.

Just downloaded... er... borrowed... Alice in Chains Unplugged and Pearl Jam Unplugged from Youtube, then ripped the audios, so I can listen or watch them in the cars.

I'll admit I got liking this song even more from rocking out to it on Guitar Hero. The video for "When You Were Young" is pretty killer. Enjoy!

I thought they might be, but they were good! There were clips of bare arms and chests that were really convincing. Now, I must admit that my eyes were frequently drawn to the chicks in the really skinny suits most of the time........

Been really big on Placebo, Ladytron and Muse the past few months. Normally it's all 80s alternative but it seemed like time to update slightly :)

The music of rain outside right now.

I consider falling rain music to my ears. I prefer rain over boomboxes any night.

Vangelis, Pink Floyd, The Big Lebowski soundtrack, Henry Mancini, Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, I received a nice CD for Father's Day of Van Morrisson. My car radio is mostly set-up at Radio-Canada and CHOM fm. And I surely appreciate a lot all of those eighties hits.
