Cannonball Run 2014 in Ireland

The Cannonball Run swung by our part of the country today. There was some serious hardware on display... cars I've never seen outside of stuff like Top Gear. My personal fave was the Vanquish... that thing is a beast. I was fortunate enough to sit in that black DBS. Hands down the greatest car I've ever been in, sadly he wouldn't swap it for the DMC :-P
I'm told that BMW i8 may be the only one in the country. Beautiful design. The time machine belongs to one of the Irish forum members.

I was seriously considering entering next year, but it costs around the equivalent of 2000 dollars (that's a lot of DMC parts!)
The experience would be priceless though.

Hahaha nooo this was all above board! It's for charity you see. They even got a police escort into town.
I was told someone in a Rolls got stopped by cops but they were able to sweet talk their way out of it!

That M5 is a beast, it has a V10 engine!! It belongs to a fella I was talking to at a previous show, he happened to have it along with him this time.... beautiful car.

I have yet to see the i8. I would expect one to show up at the Dallas Cars & Coffee...

Anyway, the V10 m5 sounds nice, but the M5 before that is the one to have IMHO. It might not be as fast, but man... it looks and sounds great!
