Even though I consider myself a sneakerhead, I'm not ready just yet to fork over $400+ on ebay for the actual DeLorean kicks not in my size... so I was happy to find these instead!

They're obviously not as special, but the silver has a nice "stainless-ish" look to it. And they were $400 cheaper

I'm thinking of trying to make a custom pair of Air Force 1s on Nike ID with a similar look... if they have a shiny silver option. Curious if any other sneaker aficionados out there have found DeLorean-inspired alternatives or anything similar to the real ones...?

Found them on ebay... they're just called "Big Nike Low" I believe. And like I said, best part was they were only $50.

Here's what I was fooling around with on Nike ID with Air Force 1s in a metallic silver, black, and gray:

I may have to buy these knock-offs at the end of the month - if for nothing else than for Halloween:

Interesting that Universal licensed them, but Nike wouldn't. Do you know about how much the original Nike Mags were getting when they were released originally? I remember hearing like $5000/pair? Is that right??
I also heard Nike is trying to figure out a way to do the automatic laces and releasing another round...

the limited run Nike did on eBay was insane price wise. the starting price was $10,000 but that reached to $90k near the end of the 1,500 quantity sale.

given that, the lack of the swoosh logo and sub-$100 makes these new Universal licensed ones an amazing deal.

There are also replica's, including swoosh, available on eBay courtesy of China. They're a little more expensive but probably a little more accurate as well. The only difference from the original as far as I know is the "NIKE" on the Velcro strap doesn't light up. I've heard the electrics can be spotty - maybe they were done by Lucas Electric. A friend has them and so far they've held up pretty good.
