Not really, but some parts that are compatible anyway! 1982 volvo 760 gle at my local u pull it. Today, I puled a functional fuel pump relay (fits the delo, and works) as well as an idle control valve, which is an identical part number, as well as the idle control unit, which is a different P/N but does look the same, it's an ( 0280220008 ) - compatible?

It also had an interesting intake snorkel, like this - which I got. Worthless, or useful?

All for $10

Should I get anything else? Might not be a bad idea to gab the fuel injection components?

Not really

Oh, that's cruel.

Does the idle ECU have 11 pins? If so, the idle RPM is set to low (600 RPM). At least one owner has tested one with 11 pins and found that. I will buy it off you if you don't use it. I would use the case and connector for my new ECU.

The RPM relay, some Volvo ones will work but others will not and may burn some wires. Post a photo of it opened up and I can tell you if it's bad.

The relay pins numbers all match. I plugged it in and the car started right up and runs fine. The idle control relay does have the extra 2 pins, and the car does idle with it but actually seems to idle a bit high - perhaps the unit is shot?

Bitsyncmaster, do you need volvo fuel pump relays to build your units from? I have a stash of about 40 of the white ones (the wrong ones for DeLoreans) - but can you use the box & connector to build your solid state units? I could sell you a batch for fairly cheap if you like.

I've used a few of those white ones. But I have a pretty good inventory of RPM relays now so as long as I get the cores returned I should be good on those.

If you want to sell your idle ECU, I will pay $30 for it. That goes for anybody that has an idle ECU (not working is fine). I need to build up an inventory of those units so at car shows or tech sessions we can just do a swap.

Also Saab NG-900's 9-3's and 9-5's all have the Bosch 0 332 209 159 (0332209159) relay - which there are 7 of in the DeLorean.

VIN 03991 has (or had) that Volvo air intake installed on it. interesting, to say the least:

i have more photos from other angles if youre interested.

I'd go in with a full set of tools and take everything from the head gaskets up.

Figure you'd spend $150...

The experience of tearing down the engine to the block without having to worry if you snap a bolt off or make a mistake is worth that cost alone...

Get as much of the engine wiring harness as you can too, the connectors can be hard to come by.

s?

For future yard-trips, where was the ECU located in this car?

If memory serves, in the Volvos the ECU is behind the carpet, mounted vertically on the side of one of the footwells. I want to say on the right side, but I may be misremembering.

Sounds right to me IIRC.

Nope, the volvo lambda control unit is located on the RH side (passenger) - the idle control is on the driver side.

Was not talking about Lambda ECU.

I cant believe you didn't get more. I probably would have gotten everything from the valley up.

So wait. I thought everything above the block were different? I suppose I am wrong. So the heads are exactly the same?

It's a Bosch mechanically fuel injected volvo being that it's an 82- so as far as I was aware, it is the exact opposite of that.
