Barcroft Media did a video profile of my Custom DeLorean Projects earlier this Summer. Like the one in 2013,
the video filming took place on one of the warmest days of the Summer ... plenty of sweat between takes.

The video turned out well, but there is few seconds of footage (after a few "hop" jumps) where the radiator
developed a small leak, where the aluminum radiator and steel bracket come together and the D Rex is seen
puffing a little steam behind and around the huge front bumper and radiator grille. It almost looks like it is a
special effect, so I guess I cannot be too upset about a very small amount of that footage in the final cut.

Release date has not been disclosed yet, but it should be sometime this month, hopefully in early November.

Attaching a few still photo captures from the Final Cut of the Video Profile that should be released soon.

Thanks Domi. The D Rex was moving more "quick" then "fast", since it was a very short run-up.

Attaching a "fire-breathing" D Rex photo (or is it a photo of the D Rex letting off a little steam).

9 hours of filming, edited down into 3 minutes of video. After doing this several times now, I am
still puzzled how certain clips make it to the Final Cut, with substantial other footage left on the
cutting room floor. While I already know much of the footage is multiple re-takes, I still wonder
why OK footage makes it in, while the majority of the great footage never sees the light of day.

Congrats rich! Be more show that has captured your Delorean land.
Boy you have surpassed the airtime than even "spongebob" is working so hard to obtain. At least this is quality stuff;)
Can't wait to see the show.

Finally posted today (of course I am away from a computer too).

I wish they did not use Back to the Future car in the title,
but we all knows that is how it goes when you own DeLoreans.

Thanks for sharing the link!

Surprised you didn't smash the rear louver and engine cover when the D-Rex went over that large bump.

And the steaming did look like a special effect. ;)

Yes, I did forget to put the extra safety bungee cord back on the louver, after they took some photos.

As for the interview story-line, that has taken upon a life of its own.

As expected, the original story, photos and video have morphed into a variety of similar stories on the net.

Below are a few more related story links, with slightly different variations on the same story:

Either Crain's Cleveland Business has a crawler looking for stories that contain "Cleveland"
or maybe there is just a DeLorean fan working there. A few type-o's in their story, but I
guess I cannot blame them too much, since the type-o's were in the source morphed story
from BoldRide.com The Crain's Cleveland Business article is listed below:

Back to the future: A meeting in Cleveland nearly 15 years ago turned Rick Weissensell, 50, into the nation’s leading authority
on making wrecked DeLoreans into entirely new cars, including limousines, convertibles and monster trucks.

BoldRide.com reports that Weissensell’s passion started when he met John DeLorean, founder of the company, at the Cleveland
DeLorean Car Show back in 2000.

“He shared his plans to create some wacky custom versions of the car with John who gave his blessing,” according to the story.
“That was all it took for Weissensell to let loose and start creating DeLoreans the likes of which you’ve never seen.”

He has a monster truck that he built in just under a month from a DeLorean and a wrecked K5 Blazer. There’s also a nearly 26-foot-long
limousine with three sets of gull-wing doors that are fully operational.

“As a true DeLorean enthusiast, Weissensell has one rule that he follows for all of his custom cars: he will not use working DeLoreans,
only wrecks,” BoldRide.com reports. “Because there were so few built, he doesn’t want to remove any working originals from service.
That limits him as to what he can build and when, but he says he’ll keep coming up with new designs for as long as he’s able.”

There have been several very cool posts and re-posts of the Barcroft Cars video and interview,
but the one I saw earlier today was very unexpected and I certainly appreciate the mention.

The Dupont Registry - Car Blog

In addition to re-posting the video, it looks like they did their homework gathering more details
for the text, rather than just re-posting some of the original text.

Maybe you've already got some plans in your head for a DWC - upside down DeLorean? This guy is in Clinton, IL (North of Decatur). Same "Barcroft" cars type video too.

I wonder how long he'll think getting 1,000 pictures a day taken is still fun? :)

Hi Jonathan,

Actually, Barcroft did a number of profiles in the Midwest, all about the same time, and that truck was filmed the day before my collection was filmed.

If you look through a few more of the Barcroft profiles, there are at least two more in Illinois and one in Iowa, all filmed within a few days of each other.

Later,
Rich W.
