Proud to have found this manifest on ebay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/DeLorean-DMC-12-1981-delorean-dmc-12-early-production-model-in-concours-d-elegance-condition-/171535529433?forcerrptr=true&hash=item27f05075d9&item=171535529433&pt=US_Cars_Trucks) from a fellow owner who was is selling his Delorean along with this manifest. I asked him to scan me a copy of these but he respectfully wanted to avoid tearing the pages from the original staple.

So I asked for photos, and he took the time for us to have this very interesting document. I thank James for his contribution and good luck with the sale of 927. (and if you happen to own a pet by Gaithersburg in Maryland, prefer his practice aadconline.com)

Page one is in orginal colors, the rest I had to grayscale, crop, conrast and resize for easier browsing.

*NOTICE: Vin's are not in order or all there. 379 VIN's are included in the gap of 559 vehicle vins.
ALSO ONLY BLACK TRIM Vehicles included on that shipment!! Interesting hugh?
Happy hunting;)

I find it very interesting that those were shipped according to interior trim!

So this was the first batch out! Next batch a month later on the OCEAN GULF must have been gray interiors.

There should be another 16 manifests around...hopefully. We could ask that guy on eBay who sells delorean factory documentation.

Thanks very much for this Alex. Fantastic documents.

Based on my VIN and knowing it has been on the East coast all it's life, I can presume that it was shipped to the East (any idea what POE stands for - Port of Embarkation comes to mind, but that would be Belfast).

So mine was most probably on the DYVI Kattegat or Oppamu Maru.

FYI, the first batch of Grey trimmed cars starts at 29xx, again probably on the DYVI Kattegat

POE = Port of Entry

Agreed ... Great documents, especially the Manifest / Vessel Summary page.

POE = Port of Entry

I would have thought it would have been more specific as to the actual name of the Port, but I guess they don't care about that, just whether it was West Coast, East Coast

ALEXAKOS

They probably used one port of entry west and east so that made it simpler... And cheaper!

Wow, a big thanks from the owner of VIN1052 :) Because my car was first sold in Iowa (to an Illinois wholesaler), I always thought it had entered the States somewhere on the East Coast. Now I know it was the sunny California 8)
31880

These cars must have `sailed` through the Panama canal, right?

Actually, the first grey interior cars were VINs 2436-2441, all built between July 9th and July 12th of 1981. These were shipped on the July 17th manifest.

A little more than a month later, grey interior production began in earnest with VIN 2973, and continued for about 400 cars. These were split between the Hoegh Target and Kattegat manifests - it would makes sense that they would want to split up the new grey interior cars between the east and west coasts.

The DeLorean Museum offers "original owner certificates (https://squareup.com/market/the-delorean-museum-inc/original-owner-certificate)" for thousands of different VINs, many of which contain all of these details and more.

All proceeds from the sales go directly to the treasury of The DeLorean Museum, a nonprofit corporation. Funds from the treasury are used strictly for the acquisition of memorabilia and supplies necessary to protect and preserve the existing items in the Museum collection.

SHIPPING: VIN's 560 to 1134 BLACK INTERIOR manifest photosOne off!!!!! :tantrum:

Sorry, had to... ;) Already knew it was part of an earlier shipment, but now that I see there's a manifest, I'm curious if they made one for said earlier shipment. I always heard it was shipped earlier, but never knew there was a comprehensive list of all the VIN's in each shipment. This is actually truly fascinating!

(Although in case anyone's wondering, the VIN lists were largely sorted by whole VIN, so the fact that it seems to repeat ranges comes from the check digit, NOT from haphazard sorting. If you transcribed the VIN's to Excel and sorted on that column, you'd get the same results. I've got similar paperwork and figured this out with mine. Really should digitize it soon.)

Do any other shipping manifests exist that the community is aware of? I'd be VERY interested to learn about the boat and time my car made its way over.

Hi,
I got that information and more on the Original Owner Certificate as posted by the Delorean Museum above. As Sarah stated, they may have this information for your car. I was pleasantly surprised at the all the information. My ship was the Pearl Ace.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm a new owner and just now seeing this. What a great find. Looks like my car (VIN 952) was on the very first shipment. Super cool!
