I think he is doing it for the same reason videobob puts his cars up for astronomical numbers...to draw attention to it. Of course videobob is doing it to promote his business, and hopefully get the auction plastered on the lighter side of the nightly news. That would translate into a lot of free advertising. This guy just has a very very large "look at me I got a Delorean" ego to be stroked.
