Had a go myself at doing mine at the weekend, as the old ones were pretty ropey decided I had nothing to loose and bought enough headlining material to do the whole car for around £20...($30)
The new material I went for was the best match for colour and also the thickest so was quite forgiving if you can't get the backings perfectly smooth..

Original cloth removed and before I removed the foam which disintegrated as I touched it..

Started by applying spray adhesive only to the recessed area to allow to be able to stretch the corners into place..

Finished and refitted

I'm sure a professional might be able to pick holes in it but for an outlay of just £20 I'm pretty chuffed with the results :)
