Hi guys, I'm brand new to this forum as I have just bought my first Delorean. It needs a fair bit of money spent on it. I decided start with the rear discs and calipers and had a small heart attack when I noticed they looked like they came off the Titanic. Should I use official DMC parts or can I use something else? I do know that Delorean are bits of everything so has anyone used any other rear discs and calipers from another vehicle without any problems?

You could also see if they can be machined. Disk rusting is very common even on a daily driver. If the car sits outside for a week or two they will show heavy rust. It gets cleaned off after a few miles of driving and braking.

Unfortunately they're too far gone to machine down. Is there a brand of Jaguar rotors I can use?

Welcome to ownership!

I don't see a cross reference to the rear rotors on the link below, but it may help with other parts...

Perhaps someone else has a cross reference, but if not, new DMC rotors are $93 each. Not too extreme for an exotic car. http://store.delorean.com/p-7430-disc-rear.aspx

Calipers are usually rebuildable and the vendors have the parts.

Good luck with the job.
