It seems to me in the land of the D that not much is said about the Timing Chain? Usually I change them about 80-100,000 miles. My first timing chain replacement was 79 bucks on a Mercury Bobcat. "An awesome Car" The one for my Toyota Truck was more than the Mercury Bobcat.

With that being said. Just wondering with these 30 year old cars with an average of under 40k miles. When is the Timing Chain replaced? Are there complete kits for these?

That sounds more like timing belt talk than timing chain.

I just had my engine apart & the tensionsers still had a lot of life to them, indicating both the guides were still good & the chain had not stretched/worn much & this was at 54K. The chain should go well past 100K....so nothing to worry about.

My chain had a broken link in it. Dave at DMCMW has never seen a break like that before. He might have a photo of it.

I'm at ~127k and, to my knowledge, no signs of problems with my timing chain. In general, I thought that timing chains were suppose to have pretty long lives, no?

Yes. Belts do not have the lifespan chains do.

Is there a "tensioner test" for the PRV? With Saabs, you can pull the tensioner, and measure it, this gives you the measurement of the slack of the chain and guides. Once you are passed a certain point, it's time to replace the chain & guides. (could be 60K, could be 300K) - depending on how well or poorly the car was maintained, primarily it depends on the frequency of oil changes. Typically in a well maintained car the timing chain is a "lifetime" service item.
