Hello, I have a total of 4 stock lower control arms and a stock steering shaft with u-joints for sale.

3 of the control arms are in good shape, however 1 got mangled with a spring compressor. They are Deloreans with 73,000 and 15,000 miles respectively. I'll sell all 4 for $150 plus shipping.

The price for the steering shaft (from a 73,000 mile car) and u-joints is $75 OBO

Price Drop:

Control Arms $100 for the set (plus shipping)

Steering Shaft $50 (plus shipping)

Make me an offer, as I would like to unload some of my spare parts that I know I'll never use!

Thanks

do you still have all four control arms?

I could use a pair of the control arms. I only need two though, so maybe me and Josh can split it? How is one “mangled?” I’d be cutting the spring cup off (to install coilovers) if it matters.

I still have all four control arms. The mangled one might be able to be salvaged. I'll dig them out and take pictures when I get home. I'd be willing to split them up $67 for the 73,000 mile undamaged pair. $34 for the 15,000 mile good arm and the mangled arm. Plus shipping of course.

Well I stand corrected, apparently I threw the mangled one away. I did a cleanout a while ago and got rid of a few items that were beyond repair / use, and it looks like the mangled control arm fell into that category. So I have a total of 3.

I’ll take the two control arms.
If you are not willing to split them, I’ll take all three in order to get the two. But I really only want two.
Send me a pm with payment info (shipped to 89148 )

Do you still have the steering shaft? If so, is it original or later version of u-joints?

Jack: Here are picutres of the control arms. The matching pair were removed at 73,000 miles. The single arm was removed around 15,000 miles. All could use a good cleaning and a repaint.

Dan: The steering U joint assembly is the stock setup from 4194. I didn't know that this part was the subject of a production change. After 20+ years of ownership, I'm still learning new things about these cars :-)

i tried to PM back but your inbox is full.

I have one extra LCA so i was hoping to scoop these up and have two sets to give to a friend to refurbish and box.

How many miles on them, are they tight or if you rotate the ends is there any play? There wasn't any production change, DMCH came up with their own version of the lower joint at some point. I've had DMCH's version and at least two sets of originals that have somehow gone bad on my car so I'm considering yours. Did you go with the Borgeson unit?

All LCAs are SOLD.

The steering U-joint assembly is the stock unit. I installed the Borgeson vibration reducing U-joint assemby on 5052 and liked it so much that I did the same upgrade on 4194. I've subsequently put in excess of 10,000 miles on each car without any problems whatsoever. While I would love to sell the stock u-joint assembly, I do highly recommend the Borgeson upgrade. :-)

I was planning on keeping the 15,000 mile U-Joint assemby that I removed from 5052 as a spare, but for $50 plus shipping, I would be willing to sell the 15,000 mile assembly and keep the 73,000 mile assembly as a spare.

I'll confirm that both assemblies have no play and move smoothly later tonight.

Thanks

Andrew

I was just able to get the Borgeson parts on Amazon for about $120 so I will no longer need the stock unit. Sorry for all the troubles and questions.

I will PM you regarding this, I don't want to clog up the OPs sale thread. Full disclosure, though,it was only so cheap because the part prices seemed to be cut in half, I remember someone else (Farrar?) got the same deal last year around this time. I had these Amazon items "saved for later" for two years + and they may no longer be available at the price I paid, this thread reminded me to check thankfully! The same thing happened to me with a clutch kit this summer, I had it in saved for later at almost $200 and one day it happened to be $108 so I grabbed it just because.

No worries on not needing my stock steering u-joints and congrats on buying the Borgeson vibrating reducing unit! I suspect that you won't be disappointed. Did you only buy the vibration reducing U-joint, or did you also buy the correct intermediate shaft and the upper u-joint? If you are already running the updated vendor supplied steering u-joints, you should be able to reuse the upper U-joint, but you may need to shorten the intermediate shaft to compensate for the fact that the vibration reducing unit is longer than the non-vibration reducing U-joint.

It should be noted that the Borgeson vibration reducing u-joint cannot be used with the stock intermediate shaft (and thus the upper u-joint) as the stock shaft is a smaller diamater.

I did get the two u-joints and the shaft. Cost for all of it was $126 + 7% tax and free two-day shipping. I have been waiting two years for it though!
