First thoughts...

"So... Is that a new DeLorean... that looks like an old DeLorean..."
"Why isn't the door closed all the way... are the striker pins mis-aligned?"
"It takes a long time for that guy to walk to the car"
"Doesn't everybody know the pull strap is just to get the handle within reach? You close the door with the hard handle..."
"Does that last scene represent all the money he's going to throw away keeping the car running?"

EDIT... I'm kidding BTW... I am indifferent to the plans of DMCH... I can see positives and negatives.
Cheers
Steven

That, and how filthy the window is! They could have Windex-ed it before the shoot! :) All in all, a good video. I enjoyed watching it.

...I think they used the "small person lying across the seat to open the door for the camera so it looks like it just opened" trick. Except they went a tad early and it opened a wee crack in the first few seconds.

Clearly only manly men drive manual transmissions... who is this sissy with an automatic? (and who revs their auto trans while in park, anyway??) This would not make a very good "Old Spice believe in your smelf" commercial.

...I did think it could have made for an excellent teaser trailer to a new Tarantino film... with Jules Winnfield or Vincent Vega waiting in the car as the door opens ready to bust a cap in his ass... j/k. Cool video. Start your counters on how many friends send you the "did you see this?" link for this video before the week is out. I give an over/under of 3.5.

+1 on the emails, IM's and other comments from friends and family.

Overall an okay "film" (I did film and video production for half my life so I can make a pro comment). Would've been nice if they had taken the time to make at least one show/concept DeLorean like the big automakers do for car shows - updated dash, aligned doors, chrome letters on the bumper, new engine, custom exhaust, different rims, new interior (maybe with a different pattern or something on the seats), stainless shift knob, lighted door sill - things that all say "This is a $100,000 car".

Maybe they could have borrowed Patrick's car or someone else's for the shoot which would've created a much better teaser as to what's coming - even a few different cars - Patrick's for the outside, Nick's for the engine bay, anyone with a more updated dash and console...

Maybe we should just make our own "Dream DeLorean" short film!

Wait a minute. Is that a PRV @ 0:50? I also see they removed the radio faceplate to avoid commitment to any specific supplier.

Not green enough for Mt. Charleston, and the wrong rock formations for the Red Rock loop. Looks almost like it was filmed over in Death Valley.

Looks like a pretty good start to me.

Sounds quite nice. I was in a hurry to get to homework, so I just made beef stroganoff. Leftovers will become tomorrow's lunch.

First point....... Why aren't you being good Americans and eating fast food take-out?
Second........... This is the country with Hollywood in it isn't it? Piss-poor trailer, is that as exciting/interesting as they could make it? No wonder China is taking over your film industry. I reckon I could do better........ Well, if I had some nice camera equipment, and a nicer Delorean, and obviously a nice metro-sexual model, and just a nice back-drop, and obviously lots of time, and............

Hi Rob and Mike. I had chicken.

Hi, Dave. What kind of chicken?

First point....... Why aren't you being good Americans and eating fast food take-out?

Because a constant diet of salt, sugar, and grease is not only unhealthy, but the flavors just start blending into one after a while to where no meal is satisfying. The only thing that changes with American fast food is the heat level and the texture.

Also, kudos to you for saying "take-out" and not "take-away".:aniclap:

Second........... This is the country with Hollywood in it isn't it? Piss-poor trailer, is that as exciting/interesting as they could make it? No wonder China is taking over your film industry.

No, no. We're not losing our movie industry to China. We're just catering to them because they're such a cash cow in terms of ticket sales and marketing. So we don't want to put out anything that offends them. Like how that Red Dawn remake was completely scrubbed to remove all references to China and instead made North Korea the laughable protagonist.

If Hollywood was losing it's movie industries to anyone, that would be Toronto, Louisiana, and Las Vegas (porn).

Ohhh, just for everyones info....... I had Red Thai veg curry.

Dude, you live in England. Of course you're eating curry.

Don't feel bad though, I love the stuff too. Not just for Thai and Indian food, but I'll mix it in with other things as well. Mac and Cheese being the most notorious of the lot (my wife is appalled by this, but it was what I grew up on). Some great grand uncle in the British army wound up in India where he was introduced to the spice, and brought it back to Belfast with him. Thus ended a family tradition spanning hundreds of years to just boil everything in a pot for 3 days, to then figuring out better ways to cook things so we could slather it in curry.

If the film had been made in Hollywood, with a decent budget, it would have been way better. OR had it been made with a decent budget, it would have been better. I'm in San Diego and spent 25 years making movies, corporate videos and commercials. If the budget was low, we did what we could with what we had, BUT always filmed it like a high end movie with good composition, lighting, etc. - all about telling a story. If the budget was what we needed and wanted, then we could do all the things to make it what we expected - like I mentioned earlier about making the thing we were telling the story about seem as real as possible (like if you're selling a NEW DeLorean, make it look like a NEW, 2016 model with the stuff you plan on selling).

It's not about Hollywood, it's about budget, time, and production choices.

That being said, it's an okay film - and I'd guess someone said "My nephew can make that for around $800 bucks." And they did. My daughter recently paid some production company, IN LA, $750 to shoot her music video... and they had to borrow our video projector. And she paid them in full before they even rolled the camera...

I have yet to see what they did or any samples of their work.

But she needs to learn about things like that I guess. She won't listen to us or take our advice.

Kids these days.

I hear you dude, but its those production costs are what is forcing/encouraging this............

Chinese studio boss Bruno Wu, of Seven Stars Entertainment, has secured the help of the government of the Binhai New Area, Tianjin to build Chinawood, which represents a $1.27bn investment for a complex that will ultimately total 8.6m square feet on completion (It will still have some way to go to beat the 35.5m square feet of the world's largest film studio, Hengdian, also in China.)

Chinawood's main aim will be to service co-productions between Hollywood and China – a move that will no doubt be popular among US producers, to get around China's strict quota regulations.

Over a third of the Chinawood investment represents a financing fund to kickstart production, and the centre will also contain post-production facilities and a dedicated 3D conversion centre.

We will rue the day. I'm furious, what are all our splendid British actors going to do if Hollywood start relying on Chinese talent? American tv drama can't accommodate them all!! lol
