I am trying to contact Byrne (or whomever is running his company now) because I bought a set of window motors from him and neither I nor my buddy (who rebuilt/restored 3
Deloreans) can figure out how they can possibly mount in the door.

If anyone can post or pm me with the contact info I would greatly appreciate it. I cannot find any contact info on the
New Website.

.

Pictures? I've only ever seen one aftermarket window motor style and they fit (with a bit of effort).

Dave , out of respect for Byrne I hesitate to post pics of the motors. He sent me them as he was dealing with his health issue and he decided to close shop.

I will pm you pics and then maybe you can give me some advice . Thank you

Byrne told me himself that he is not closing shop. Why not post the pics?

Ok maybe someone on her has Byrnes window motors and can offer any installation guidance. There are no threaded holes (or any holes) in the unit to screw the mounting plate to. The plastic sleeve is connected to my OEM metal sleeve that I sent him by a 2 inch section of fuel hose and tpits just shoved in there and easily falls out. There are no mounts at all and nothing along the tube either except for a peice of carpeting insulation on one of them , maybe that's supposed to hold the screw?

I can take better pictures in the sunlight tomorrow . The cable inside that rides the gear is very short too.

When I asked for installation instructions or
Pictures Or Diagrams , Byrne emailed me back and just told me that they are smaller than the stock ones and that he installs them on every car he sells. He told me about the drivers and passenger side markings which I already knew. He is very vauge and non technical . His email did not help at all. But there are no places to mount a bracket of any kind. I showed these pics to Dave Swingle and he is perplexed by it too.

I asked Byrne again about how the motors attach to the door brackets and this is his reply. Again, very quick vauge and non technical and again not answering my question at all.
The bottom is my question and the top is Byrne's reply.

Good morning Louis,
Insert the regulators such as the two eye let holes attach to the two Pins on the door window.

I insert the long end in first to ward the front of car and then the rear short end.

Thanks,

Byrne

Byrne, I hope you are doing well. How do I attach the motor assembly to the bracket and mount into the door? Can you please provide me with some kind of pictures or illustrations? There are no bolt holes anywhere on the Unit to attach it to anything. I do notice the drivers and passenger Side markings but the actual casing cannot attach to the mourning bracket. Please see the pictures I sent. Can you link me to others who have installed them successfully so I can see how they attached the motors to the doors?

Thank you again ,

So This is how I replied. I don't expect any install
Instructions on how the motor assembly can possibly mount to the door window motor
Bracket or any other way these motors could possibly attAch to anything inside the door (except of course the toll booth window glass :/ )

Byrne, I understand how the eyelet attaches to the window. But the motor unit didn't have any way to attach to anything. How do the door brackets attach to the motor assembly? Can you please provide me with a picture of your door units installed? The metal sleeve just sits in the 2 inch section of fuel line that you use for a connection? It falls right out when the cable moves the ought the sleeve. You said that you install these motors in Delorean doors. Please send me pictures on how they attach to the door bracket, not how the eyelet attaches to the window. I have shown the motors to many experienced Delorean owners and they cannot fathom how these units would mount to the door bracket. There are no attachment points for the bracket at all. You must have some way to photograph the installation if you are installing them in every car you sell, as you've said.

Maybe the units you sent me were incomplete. You sent them as you were having some health issues back when you had decided to close shop.

May I send the motors back so you can see how they have no areas where they would attach to the door window motor Bracket and be mounted inside the door ? Maybe they were sent before they were finished and ready to ship.
Can you possibly and some more information on how they mount to the door? What do you use to mount them to the door bracket?

Or may I please just send them back for a refund of my purchase Price because I also cannot see how they can attach to any bracket and there is obviously no way to screw or attach the motors to the door window motor brackets.

Thank you again,
Louis Duet

I think if I get another quick vauge useless response from
Byrne, I will start the refund process with him (or with my credit card if that's what it comes to)

I always thought Byrne made a quality product. Either that's not The case or I was sent a
Set before they were completed and ready to be sent out.

Louis I have seen a car with this done before. The factory brackets were mounted to the plastic body with self tapping screws. It appeared to be attached to window first, hung in place and mounted to lower bracket. There didn't seem to be a procedure out of car for bracket mounting as they were mounted at weird angles with self tapping holes that "didn't work". We ended to replacing both for the customer as it was banging into the outer skin when travel maxed up/down.

Josh, thank you so much for the information. It was much more than I have been getting from the seller. I will be seeking a return and refund from Byrne. I just want to see if he can send me any mounting information at all first.

Are $500 A-1 motors truly the best option?

There was a time when I was told over the phone by the guys at A1 to mention you got their info off this forum to get a discount. Not sure if that still applies, but its worth a shot.

Received a check from Byrne today for the original cost plus shipping.

Very pleased with the return and Byrne's promptness to send the refund.

Sorry to resurrect a dead thread but I recently ordered Lower Control Arms from deloreanupgradeparts and got an email saying my order was received...this was a few days ago, no email saying it was shipped. Kind of in the dark here and there is no contact information on the website!
