This one has been serviced by Rob Grady. It's been for sale off and on for awhile.

I've never seen a rear fascia warp like that.

I have. It means that the metal plate behind the muffler is bent. Mine looks similar since I straightened it myself instead of replacing it after my car got rear-ended.

Mismatched rear tires, mismatched lugs, very dirty, warped rear fascia, and black seats with a gray interior? The bolts in the interior are rusty which says leaking into the cabin, I'd be afraid of the frame. Sorry...I don't think that is a 22k car.

Neither do I. That's probably why this one been for sale for at least a year.

The rear fascia warpage is also a likely indicator that the car has either backed into something or was rear-ended at some point in its life. You can even see that the plate on the back is warped in the pictures.

Still, if the car runs well and is ready to drive, the price isn't that out of line. I'd say that $17,000.00 would be a little more reasonable.

My thoughts exactly..I've seen a lot nicer for that price.

I've never looked at a DeLorean frame with rust either. In any case, I would not go for it unless I had it inspected by another knowledgeable owner, or a Delorean satellite.

PJ Grady should know the ins and outs about this vehicle, asking him would give you honest and good info. If the frame is on its way out, he would know. I for one can not understand why someone would drive around with it unprotected like that. Texas is very forgiving when it comes to rusting, but northern states eat up a car like no tomorrow.

Pretty bad. While the damage visible there isn't terrible, its a reflection on the rest of the frame. The engine cradle is one of the more durable portions of the frame. If its this bad, the rest of the frame is likely worse.

Pretty bad. .....

Agreed, that car needs some love and an asking price of $22,2000 is a bit high for the amount of love that car needs.

The frame on my car was like this and wasnt good at all :-( i took the body off but i suppose you could just engine out and have a go . the whole inside was shot .and also as said already the rest of the frame also needed a lot of work inc the fue tank area , ok if you do it ya self but to get someone to do it would cost alot . my car was in better nick than this cost of car 25,000 cost to redo as new 22,000 , 47,000 approx all up . not cheap . :eek5:

Agreed, my car has 52K on it right now and is in far better condition frame and all.

Rob's a very honest guy. That would be my first thought for anyone seriously interested in this car.

As for frame rust. It is very easily taken care of if caught early on. Having put roughly 40K mileage on my car in the new York region. You'd be hard pressed to find any rust in my frame at all. Any spots that did appear were taken care of right away. But like anything else you have to stay on top of it.
