Working on a college campus where female students outnumber males 2:1 I may see this more than others but girls that wear those furry boot with short shorts. Heck, the furry boots all together.

Man, your work life just sucks! :angry_whip: In my industry the ratio is 1:95 with an average age of 50+. What I would give to see shorts, w/ or w/o furry boots!

This may just be a current Austin fad, but those stupid neon colored sunglasses from the late '80s/early '90s need to be put away and never return again. They were bad enough the first time around!

Skinny jeans should not be worn by any male... they look flattering on no one.

Twitter needs to just die already.

So does Lady Gaga.

And all over the top dramatic, formulaic reality shows.

What else am I forgetting?! :giddy:

The full face sized sunglasses need to go.

+1 on planking.

And let's go back to smiling for the camera and put away the duck face.

I've been wearing the ORIGINAL Ray-Bans since they were uncool and I can't wait for that fad to die.

Twitter is so stupid that I can't believe it caught on.

While we're at it, the resurgence of '80s fashion by people born in the '90s.

My Little Pony fans.

Girls taking pictures that are 90% their face and you can't tell what they're supposed to be.

I'm sure there are more I'm forgetting

Original movies, not remakesThere's not a single thing on this list that I disagree with. Haven't seen gasoline additives at the gas pumps, but I asked my mechanic (decades and decades of experience, great guy) about fuel injection cleaner, and he started ranting about pretty much any fuel additive you can think of. Very informative, but I do put Sta-bil in my gas when I store a car for the winter.

+1 for furry boots/shorts and "duckface" to go away. I saw the former back in high school five years ago, to the point where I walked behind some girls in the dead of winter with snow on the ground, wearing short skirts that barely covered their ass, with those furry boots, complaining about how cold it was. I heard one of them (who was smart enough to wear pants) ask why she wore the incredibly short skirt, and her response was something along the lines of "it looks fashionable". Meanwhile, I'm wearing long pants, a t-shirt, and a very heavy hoodie.

Here's one to add to the list: Crocs. Whether it's the "go away" list or the "come back" list is a matter of taste, but quite frankly, I grew fond of crocs when my sibling informed me of a deep hatred of them  The basic run-of-the mill croc I think at least looks respectable (to some extent), but I once saw camouflage, fur-lines crocs, which I know is too much for even some croc fans.

Fur boots can stay. If you knock them, you've obviously never worn them. Sooooooooo comfortable. But I agree, they're stupid with shorts. If it's cold enough to wear them, it's too cold for shorts

Also, +1 on the fedoras. I'll marry the first guy that shows up on my doorstep dressed like Cary Grant.

Those infernal "Kidz Bop" CDs need to go away. I just saw a commercial for #20. Seriously? They've made 20 albums of terrible songs made even worse by having children sing them; how are they still in business?

For that matter, stores need to stop putting out seasonal decorations too early. Some places here have Christmas things on display and it's not even October yet.

They've made 20 albums of terrible songs made even worse by having children sing them; how are they still in business?I had blocked those horrid abominations out of my mind up to this point. I've never literally cringed at anything before, but when I heard one of my then-favorite songs being slaughtered like zombies by machine gun, not only did that song instantly drop from my "faves" to my "anti-faves", but my grandmother also asked me if I was having a reaction to what I was eating. How the hell did they ever make money off of that?

Another fad that needs to die: using "memes" in real life. It's one thing if you're around a group of friends in an isolated setting, but quite frankly, no one should ever verbally use the term "lulz". It used to be cool back in '07-'08 before the "rickroll" (the good 'ol days, as far as I'm concerned), but now that I'm hearing "memes" being used by kids that wouldn't understand the origins of said "memes" without consulting knowyourmeme.com , it now needs to die. It makes you sound like a linguistically-inhibited dunce.

Also, +1 on the fedoras.

Blech. I started wearing a black fedora in the 6th grade. Little did I know the fedora would become fashionable. Now it sits in the closet with my Homburg, flat cap, and top hat. I got tired of people asking me if I like black-eyed peas.

That's a fad I want to disappear--talentless celebrities (I won't call them musicians) ruining my beloved old-style fashions. The classic double-breasted suit. The fedora. I could go on. They need to stick to sequins and leave the classy clothes for the rest of us.

Kudos to you. I love the sentiment and agree on both counts. Every time I wear a suit, which is almost every day, I get questioned about it. It's called "well-dressed" and it's a practice that NEEDS to come back.

I have started with a vest and tie; my girlfriend has acknowledged that I look "nice" in such an outfit, regardless of whether there is an "occasion" to wear them. (It's too hot down here to wear a wool/wool-blend suit year-round, and I disdain seersucker.) We will see if anyone else catches on in the next thirty years; not many fashion trends start in New Orleans, but we can hope.

The classic double-breasted suit. The fedora. I could go on. I don't own a suit. Recently a friend came here for a funeral. He had forgotten a tie and asked if I had one. "let me look" I said. Speaking of broadcasting, I can't wait for all of those stupid contest shows to disappear. How many of them are there now? Singing, dancing, cooking, tailoring, modifying cars, seeking investors... I can't turn on the TV these days without one of them being on. (Hence I rarely turn on the TV these days; I let my DVR watch TV for me.) It seems there is a damn contest for everything but what is desperately needed on television: writing and acting.

(Even the contest shows' titles display a lack of knowledge: one of the shows is called "Dragon's Den." Everyone knows dragons don't have dens; they have lairs.)
