Sean always does so much for us and our Deloreans, why not have a meet at his house and work together on his sorry excuse for a project? Let's pull together SEDOC and help him out!

Disclaimer: I probably won't show up.

Disclaimer: I probably won't show up.I suggested that and he side stepped the issue with me too.

Inside Joke: I'd secretly set it up but he might get thoroughly POed for us coming unannounced.

Private Thought: And your sorry ass wouldn't show up after posting the suggestion.

Ok, so back on topic, who wants what Ron is suggesting? What dates work?

Anyone interested in attending the Euro Auto Festival at the BMW plant in Greer SC? Saturday October 15th is the date. The website is euroautofestival.com

I made a posting in the car show thread and all I have heard is crickets........

That's the same weekend as the DMC Open House event in Houston.

Yes, I know. However, I seriously doubt there are a lot of people in this neck of the woods that will be going to the Houston Event (and take/drive a DeLorean there). I don't consider the Houston Event to be in competition with this event (wrong region). I went to the Houston Event in 2001 and 2003, and I can't think of a reason to go this time around.

EuroFest is different, it is all European make cars, not just DeLoreans. I guarantee there will be a few cars there that you may have never seen before in real life. For example, there was an Alpine A310 there a couple of years ago with a PRV. It is funny to see the same oil pan hanging down, and not be a DeLorean. That is a rare car here in the US.

Anyway, it was just a suggestion. I will go no matter what anyone else does. See ya there, or not.

Im down for crashing at seans. I would gladly help break his car. Plus I need to do front brake pads....

Disclaimer: if weather is bad, I probably wont show up.

If anyone wants a change of venue, my place is always open. Nothing fancy, but close to some great mountain roads. We could easily have a cookout and light tech session.

Sean or Jai's place and a mountain drive sounds great!

Ron

So far it looks like harassing Sean and rescuing his poor D is the most popular.
GA HWY 60 is another mountain ride that starts a few miles from his house.
(Now, I didn't mention it because it runs a couple of miles from my place on to 515...no, really ;-)

Other Ideas?

WHEN???

Would be happy to donate a day helping (used lightly) Sean get his car back together. It's looking like October will be a busy month so no promises. Would depend on date.

Unless you sentimental Nancys bring welding gear, steel and a great welder there is nothing to do on my poor D. I'm happy to host and we can cover whatever before an awesome ride to Ron's.

I can come up with the welding gear and steel is no problem.
I have a great welder, but trying to get him to go to Dahlonega :hysterical:

In high school shop I made a CO2 race car out of phonebook paper and resin, I suppose we could spend a Saturday pathing her up with some Elmer's and paper.

The drive to Sean's is very nice if I take the back roads from my house! I am good for Sean's or any other place. Doesn't look like I will be able scratch up enough funds for my brake overhaul anyway. :frown:

What's your plan? Just a seal rebuild? Replace pistons? Replate the calipers?

Seals, pads, master cylinder, pins, various small hardware. Not sure about the pistons. Will have to check once I dig in.

Well if we don't meet at your place you should bring the calipers and we can pull the pistons, clean them up and drop in new seals. If you do this try to work the pistons out as far as you can while they are on the car.

Well folks? Where we going? I gotta warn that the 15th just became bad as I learned Gold Rush is going on that weekend. All the nutty outoftowners come in for the weekend and make the place a nightmare.

Any date works for me.

Doh! I knew that.:p

So, dates that work for everyone so far are:
15th (town will be busy from gold rush but still doable)
22nd (I'd need to be done by 3:30ish)
29th

Locations:
Jai's
Ron's(we can still cruise to his place, nice ride from my place)
My place
Other?

Do we need to post some polls?

I'd prefer the 15th or 29th since it gives us longer days...Seans and/or my place.

Isn't that just the way? I'll be in NC the 21st - 24th for my mom's 80th bday.

If its not on the 22nd, leaving Sean's at clear-out time would put you back in time for supper?

DL4567
10-05-2011, 01:19 AM
Well it sure looks like interest on this really fizzled out. What happened? I'm all for doing anything at all, whether it's this mountain drive and or meet at Sean/Ron/Jai's, or a tech session at Dermot's in early November. If we do the October thing still, my vote is now for the 15th, as the calendar is really starting to fill up.

So let's get this settled!! :angry_whip:

(just kidding about the whip thing)
