That might be a candidate for a DPI or DMCH rebuild Core. I don’t believe the wheels are even attached to the chassis or the Frame is completely rotted out at the suspension attach points.

Three sirens in the engine bay.
To warn people to stay away.

I actually like the taillights with all yellow faded away.

Damn! It looks like it was used to jump a set of railroad tracks or Sheriff Rascoe's squad car! There might be $4,000 worth of parts plus the value of the title if it is clean.

Sad.

My guess is disintegrated frame + picked up and put down with a forklift several times

The description says "sitting in storage". Like at the bottom of a lake! It is telling that there are no pictures of the underneath. Probably no frame left. Parts car.

And yet someone WILL buy it. My point from the beginning is 14k at one time got you a running car, a project resto but at least somewhat roadworthy.

Agreed, I can relate 100% to your point because my own car was exactly that 24 years ago.

Totally agree...

When I bought 4728 in 2015, I often said that I knowingly overpaid by a few thousand but expected within a few years it appreciate to the price I paid. By 2017 it easily did that, and from the looks of things the market is still trending upwards.

Although, we still see a story now & then of some lucky bastard scoring a running/driving/maintained car for <18K.

Just put some air in the tires and drive it home. The frame is all fine...thats actually the new trend in suspension kits.

Originally this was listed, without pictures, as "coming soon" at $14,750, but I assume when they failed to get it on the lift safely, they dropped the price by $2k.

Someone on FB spotted it last month on a transporter in KS and then again when it got to BHCC. Note how the RFF has been damaged after delivery

$12,000 is a bit expensive for a vin plate:rofl:

I imagine the vin plate is the prolly the best part on that one. I'd give 'em $1000...if nothing else it would make a pretty lawn ornament.

Hold on Wildfire, I never saw a VIN plate and I wouldn't assume much with this one

Whew. Good thing they put a bra on the front of this thing. Gotta keep everything fresh underneath.

I don't think I've ever seen a frame so rotted that the wheels are falling off. It's kind of a miracle they could even secure this thing down on the transport truck with the split in the middle of the frame and 1/3 of the metal rusted completely away.

Hopefully the towing eyes weren’t damaged

Even thou it is only a Kia I feel sorry for any car that was parked under that scrap pile wrapped in a stainless cover. I'm surprised it fared that well on the journey. Wind erosion could have nearly finished it off. Wouldn't want my car underneath that catching all its bits as it goes down that highway.

The bra is the only thing holding the front fascia on.

50:50 chance the towing eyes are still good... only 20% chance they're still with the car :)

My guess is, they'll show up on an eBay auction as a, "Rare DeLorean part."

Just last week, one car lot owner whom I have worked with for decades told me that prices were really moving up. He said "You easily got a 40k car now"

This is a real "old school" kind of guy who doesn't do the whole internet thing and even he noticed.

Indeed the prices have been going up..cars in similar or even worse off than mine was are going for the same or higher than I paid..I may have over paid a little, but I'm glad i did when I did or I wouldnt have my stainless steel brick making sure my jack stands dont run off...lol

Delorean Industries sells a new stainless steel one. Here is the link:

Every once in a while there is one on the for sale board on this site. You could post wanted to buy also.
