All the conversation kits from R12 to R134 at the auto stores don’t fit on my compressor. The original high an low ports are very short. Any suggestions on what kit/ from where I should get?

If all you're looking for is R134 retrofit service valves, I recommend getting them at Napa. Get the brass ones with replaceable Schrader cores. Good quality. Of course, the standard disclaimer goes with this that a complete conversion is more than just changing refrigerant and service valves.

I’ve tried NAPA, Autozone, Advance Auto, etc. non of them have it. Their kits don’t fit properly on my compressor

Got any photos you can share of the compressor and the current ports?

Here it is. Those are the ones I tried to use but did not work.

Something like this for the high side should work fine: https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/TEM409901 You'll want an comparable low side service valve as well. NAPA can look it up.

This will allow you to put this on the fittings seen on the compressor. This new service valve has a Schrader valve core already in it. Ideally, you would remove the existing Schrader cores seen in those other fittings on the compressor before screwing these on. You'll need a core tool for that. NAPA can assist with that too.

This is exactly what I did when I did a complete AC retrofit/replacement last year and used these very same service valves from NAPA.

I went to NAPA, they looked up delorean in the system and they said there was nothing there. Then we did try that part but the threads started to high and it didn’t fit. There was about a half a cm of space and then the threading started. I need something where the threading on the bottom starts immediately.

Hi Mark,

What about something like this:
Hi-side: 461-3098
Low side: 461-3099
From AP Air, https://www.apairinc.com/shopping/?ic=4338

Or from eBay:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/R12-to-R134a-Retrofit-Adaptors-/352438773614

I haven't used them, but based on your description of the threads, they may be a match. These are from US based reputable A/C companies.

Napa R134a conversion fittings:

P/N 409902 (High Side)
P/N 409903 (Low Side)

This is the issue. There is dead space at the bottom and the the tread begins. I need the thread to start immediately

I'm out of ideas except have you considered a right-angle service valve? Looks like the threads start immediately.

Don't know if this is the exact size for your fitting, but you'll get the idea when you see the photo. https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/TEM409909

Just make sure its not too tall that you can't close the lower engine cover.

I have personally used the NAPA adapters I posted on many DeLorean A/C systems (with OEM hoses), including my own car (with aftermarket R134a hoses) with no issues whatsoever. Trust me, they are very good quality and will work. The threads start where they need to.

You will need to remove the old schrader valves BEFORE installing the adapters, so keep that in mind.

If you buy them and they don't work for some odd reason, send them back. What are they, like $5 each?

Not sure of the diameter of your compressor's ports (3/16,1/4, 3/8 SAE/??), but I think this style (https://www.usatoolwarehouse.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=SEARCH&q=FJC-2603) is what you are looking for, if you don't want to remove the valves. (I would ;-)

Yes that is exactly what I am looking for. Thank you so much.
