OK, first issue has popped up, accelerator stuck???

My new to me Delorean is sitting in my driveway while I wait for paperwork to get through DMV, I start her up every other morning to keep the battery charged. This morning I start her up and without a hitch she turns right over, after letting her idle a minute I go to tap the gas pedal and it doesn't move. I tap it again and still nothing. I look to see if there's something wedged under the pedal, but no, nothing....I push down on it with my hand and nothing, it doesn't budge.

I can lift it slightly but it won't depress (it has in the past without a problem), any help on this perplexing issue?

Don't force it. It's probably frozen. A California car in cold weather for the first time and the throttle recall has likely never been done.

Thanks, I didn't force it figuring something had broken and I didn't want to make it worse. Weather here is going to warm up in the next few days, if the pedal goes back to normal on it's own I'll be fairly certain this was the problem and get the kit and add it.

No problem. I'll bet it is just the weather. One of the DMC wisemen said to me one day that our cars don't tend to behave very well when it is really hot or really cold outside. Like there's a sweet spot between about 10 deg C and 30 deg C. I think he was right.

Another thing he said to me was that if something needs to be forced, then stop and reassess. Forcing it usually breaks it. Especially true for things made of plastic, but so too for other things on the car as well. Glad you stopped to ask before finding out the hard way. If you're patient enough to stop and ask, someone on here will probably chime in before too long. Cheaper that way and less broken stuff. :)

Went out Sunday to warm her up, she turned over as usual and when I tapped the gas she revved freely, that freeze problem certainly must have been it. Thanks again.
