This is an early 1981 Delorean last six on the vin 001141 for $26,000. I just passed smog and paid the registration on 9/18/2011. The smog is good for 2 years and the registration is good tell 2012. It’s a five speed with dark gray rims, grooved hood with gas flap and the wind shield also has the catena in the glass. Black leather and there is no rips or cracks on the leather or dash. I pick up the car in 2007 with 74,000 miles. It is now 2011 and I have 82,7XX miles on her. In the time that I have own the “D” I’ve done a lot of up grads to it and had 90% of the work done at DMC in Garden Grove. I have all the paperwork and more. The car to me is about 95% out of 100% from the interior and exterior.

This is what I have done:

-Eibach Performance Suspension lowering kit
-Front strut bar from DMC
-SS break and clutch lines
-Auto door openers and alarm
-Tint the windows
-Centerforce clutch
-Stage II Performance Engine Upgrade – performance cams, port & polished heads, SS headers, free flow cats and muffler exhaust system. Cold air intake w/ hi flow K&N air filter and Nology Performance Ignition system.

This is a Delorean that you can drive and not worry about, all the parts are OEM and have been worked on from a Delorean shop. There is so much that I have done to this car that I can’t list every part down. If you have any question just give me a call or email me back.

I noticed that the VIN plate is missing from the door jamb. Do you still have it?

Is the one on the windshield still there?

Clearly, buying a car with the Stage II upgrade already preformed is the way to go. Much more economical. Someone needs to buy this car, it's a steal. Did you get a NOS crate motor, or did they do the upgrade to the existing engine?

DMC of garden grove did and upgrade to the existing motor and a super job of if. i have the dyno graph of before and after.

$6,000 for 20hp??? I'm glad mine has a stage II, but there is no way I would shell out that kind of coin for 20+hp.

In all fairness most owners who are upgrading this route do so because head work and exhaust work is already required to the engine to correct hard mechanical faults present.

I have to wonder about those figures; completely stock DeLoreans are well known to dyno around 100 HP at the wheels.

Someone asked about the VIN plate on the door sill missing, you said it was there, but I do not see it as well.

Do you have additional photos that can be emailed? More of the back, engine bay, perhaps dash without cover?

I may be interested in this D although the mileage is a little higher than I would like and the fact that I would need to price shipping to Florida.

Off topic slightly, but from dyno results in the UK, these two figures (127bhp and 150bhp) are consistent with the results we've had with stock and DMC stage 2 at the flywheel, rather than at the wheels.

Good luck with the sale, looks like a nice car!

Without seeing the car in person, I'm quite surprised it is still for sale at this $24,000 OBO price. I'm not getting another D for 2 years (when I return from overseas) and unfortunately I prefer automatic, otherwise this would be even more appealing. Shipping isn't too terrible across the country (although classic car shipping is a bit pricey) for potential buyers perhaps living in east coast. Well, good luck with the sale.

+1

I even advertised it on my Deloreans for sale page:headscratch:

I guess people are wanting the project cars more right now, but after you put all the money into it you would be better off buying one like this!

And a Stage 2 engine to boot :aniclap:

Yeah, I do not want to see this price drop any further. And, it really shouldn't because that looks to be like a killer deal.
