Heating/Cooling Swich query

Hi Folks,

Odd issue with my heater switch. Since owning her the fan works on all settings but ONLY when DEFROST or MAX are selected ?

Any ideas ? I have replaced the rubber maze like seal behind the switch. Could it just be dirty contacts ?

I suspect it's an issue with the electrical contacts in the mode control switch. I recently fixed an issue on 5052 where the fan would continue running even if the mode switch is off. The culprit was a broken plastic tab that holds down the contact. I was able to find the disassembly instructions online.

I have only just got the centre console back in after a Bluetooth chip addition to the original radio. Do you recall If the console needs to come out to get the switch out ?

Hopefully not..... Time to get my wife with her small hands back in there :)

About has to be, if all speeds work in any mode, because of the way it's wired.

It can be done. Small hands will help...and a long forearm.
Aligning it all up while starting the small mounting screws is the greatest challenge doing it that way.

I can't remember for sure but I think when I reinstalled my switch it did something like that I Had 2 wires switched around But i am just not sure at this point because I have done so much on this car hard to remember.
It would be worth a double check of the wire positions on the Mode sw.
