View Full Version : General Trailer Hitch?

I've for a while wanted to get a trailer hitch for the D to be able to expand the carrying capacity for trips. I seem to remember there being issues with the one that was initially available damaging the frames and causing clearance issues. I thought that there had been talk of a new design that solved those problems, but can't find anything more on it. Does anyone have that information? Thanks!

One of the Irish owners has designed a tow-hitch - I'll dig up a photo.

One available. Extremely heavy. I don't own it but I can put you in contact with the seller.

The stainless one shown is the only one available. The other picture is the older steel one installed on a car, normally they are painted black. The steel one tended to block the oil drain so the SS design was changed a bit.

I have a removable trailer hitch on my "D" Designed it and then had a welder make it.Give me your E-mail and I`ll send you a pic.It utilizes the existing tie down rings.The front rings could be used as well for a tow bar.6864.

I already have it, but there's just so much you can put up there safely...
