View Full Version : DeLorean Owner Demographics - Part I - Age (on DMCTalk.org at least)

By popular request, here are a pair of polls for recording the age and residency of DMCTalk DeLorean owners. And please keep it to actual owners here.

Part I - what is the owners age. For the purposes of the poll I am interpreting "Owner" to mean the person responsible for operating and maintaining the car,

You are the Owner if:

You paid (are paying)for it, your name is on the Title and you are the main driver.(most people on here I would think
Your relative actually owns the car (name on title, possibly O.O.) but you operate and pay to maintain it
Your parent/guardian paid (is paying) for it, their name or your name is on the title, but you operate and pay to maintain it. It is generally assumed to be "your car".

You are not the owner if:
Your parent/guardian paid (is paying) for it, their name is on the title, you operate it but they pay to maintain it. In this case, your parent/guardian is the owner

Physically or mentally? Big difference on this site.

By popular request, .... popular request? who all wants this information, and why did they ask you? If you want to put up a poll, thats all fine, but pawning the reason off to everyone else... Just say the truth...you yourself are curious. :)

well, maybe "popular" is an overstatement.

That I can get behind. Lots of "bad energy" going on here lately.

Interesting idea. I'm all for it. I'm also 22, for what it's worth.

Two more months until 30. Feeling a little old now. Bought my car myself at age 18.

I figured demographics would also include race and gender.

There isn't much need for a poll though. Its well known that most Delorean owners are nerdy white guys.

To be clear, it's your age today, not when you bought the car.

I bought mine at 27 y/o, two months before my birthday. I just turned 30 on Tuesday. Funny, I don't feel 30.

Nice try, but I doubt that she'd be interested in a guy like me. I have this odd predisposition towards the Victorian era and cars. Yes, I know it's quite the esoteric mix.

For what its worth, I keep thinking the car is going to help me attract a girlfriend but it isn't working.

For some reason the only people who flock to me and the car are middle aged men.

Ah. I do envy the suicidal. The world is their oyster. They can rack up as much debt as possible, borrow against everything they have, and throw caution to the wind to have a non-stop week of fun and exhilarating pleasure with zero consequence.

Those of us that want to live, on the other hand, have to work and play by the rules because, for us, there IS a tomorrow and I want to see as many more as possible.

According to the life expectancy calculator I will live to be 75. I guess that means I've got several years until I can go ape and start piling up debt.

Actually, I arrived at that point of view from the question of "What would you do if you knew you only had a week to live?" and it carried over to those who are suicidal.

No problem. I've got thick skin, anyways, so it'd take more than a few mocking words online to bother me. I try to take everything that's said online with a grain of salt since intonation can't be interpreted.

True that. I re-read my posts and realized that I could be coming off as a bit of a douche. It got my point across, but not in the manner I was going for.

Interesting. According to that, I will live to be 86. However, I plugged in some theoretical data for my grandfather and it said he would live to be 76; he died at 98. So I wouldn't put too much stock in that, Steve. ;)

I'll make it to 83 1/2, which means dying at Christmas which will be a real bummer for the kids. Perhaps if I take up some light smoking I can go in the summer when the weather is nice.

Maybe if you and Renee end up kicking the bucket together after all, one of you could be so kind as to leave me a DeLorean.

Or...I could just wait about 5 years and buy one myself. Which seems a little more logical.
