I bought the 2008 Delorean Car show raffle car Vin#3390 from Bill back in May 2010, At the time I thought I was getting a clean, good running car. I did get a good running car, but not so clean. The car was outside from 2008-2010, then the last 6 months it was next to a rock quarry . I have done a lot of interor work to the car, but some of the photos are from Dec, but it shows the change from then to now. The car is at DMCMW waiting for a Stage II and other work to be done right now.

Here are some Befor and After photos.

I was hoping to see some "before" shots of the wacky electronics that were installed.

I do have a photo of about 1Lb of video cables I took had to destroy the A pilers to get them out along with the head liner, how does one person install 4 dvd players in a Delorean, and on top of that the dvd players where not even region 1 so you couldn't watch US made DVDs

Drop down DVD player on the T-panle head liner
Driver side sunvisor DVD
Passanger sunvisor DVD
Main head unit flip up DVD - which was stolen out of the car (broken driver side window, thus the sitting for 6 months next to the rock quarry)

But hey, to all his own, Bill wanted to make the car into the "Silver Bullet" How can one person destroy a good car in 2 years?

I have only talked to Bill on the phone, he sounds like a nice guys and LOVEs Deloreans, but I think he forgot a few details about the car that was discoverd after I bought it.

Yes, they are the seat cover, I LOVE them. I was able to get a set of new ones off eBay back in Dec for half price. But I would pay full price because they are that good.

Sounds like whoever "Bill" is, he didn't deserve to win that or any car if that's his idea of stewardship or just basic care. Of all the people who would have loved and cherished that car it had to go to someone who just didn't give a rats a$$ about it...what a shame.

At least now it's in good hands.

I really wish the DMCH folks would take the time to figure out how to get the proper ripple look on their replacement vinyl pieces (console, knee pads, etc). They did such a beautiful job with their seatcover recreations, I don't see why they can't implement the ripple effect on their other interior pieces. Yeah, this is yet another one of my little pet peeves. I have Darren Decker to thank for my DeLorean retentiveness.

I remember reading something about the equipment used to make the ripple effect no longer exists anymore, and It would be cost prohibitive to recreate that machinery. But I suppose they could come up with some other method.

Sorry about that Louie:) I didn't mean to do it on purpose. I am just a stickler for making things look right. When you know how it is supposed to be, anything less just won't do. I will attempt to get this thread back on topic, it appears #3390 has come quite a long way. Kudos to the current owner. He may not be as specific as we are when it comes to the correct grain and pattern of the interior pieces (and everything else).
