Hi all,

Today was crazy! I spent almst all day trying to figure out and put together the Wings-A-Loft system!! Door poppers, and alarm system!

Is there anyone out there who has done it them selves, and has plenty of pictures, mainly of the whole relay connections, and where to tap in for the door release actuators. And tapping into the correct wires! It was a bit confusing based on the instructions.

I though tI had it together and I thought I tapped into one of the Black wires leading to the doors. When I connected the car battery, the alarm was beeping, doors were just locking I think, and the relays and the Blue wire connected to one of the Black tapped wire door release, became Super Hot!!! I disconnected everything.

Here are some pictures I took!

Here are the 2 wires, RED and BLACK, bolted on, directly to Positive and Negitive as the instructons said! The only thig is, what is connected to these?? I never saw anything in the instructions that have to be connected on them

SO if an expert on this can really really really help me on this with some info, or good pictures!! I would really appreciate it!!!! :o

Thank you all!!!!

I am just so confused just looking at your photos...I can't make out what is what... :/

I would start by NOT using those plastic terminals. Maybe once you figure out how to properly install it, I would solder and shrink wrap everything together. for a stronger and safer connection. I have had wires pop out and make contact with pieces of metal. No good!!

I would honestly try calling Toby from DMCNW, he is EXTREMELY knowledgeable, maybe he can help you tackle your problem. If I were you, I would try starting from scratch and slowly work my way through the directions.

Billy is running this through both DMC Help and this forum. I can see many problems arising from this. I have suggested strongly that he contact me directly. Things are a bit messed up with his installation. Fire is a strong possibility at this point. I'm just sayin' ...

You better call Toby and unplug your battery! You don't want your car to be Fire-A-Loft!

That is my garage! Thanks! Also, that's my car and the demonstration I did on the Wings-a-Loft operation...It was very easy to install because Lockzilla and Remotezilla were installed before I purchased the car. You can see how the actuator works and is wired if you look at the picture. The ground goes to one of the screws that holds it in the door and the other wire connects to the ground wire from the lock solenoid. You just have to trace the wires behind the rear side panels for the opposite side of the door you are connecting...it's all in the manual. If you figure out one wire at a time it becomes much easier. I did have to call Toby a couple of times but he helped me quickly sort it all out. If you have any specific questions I can help you regarding hooking up the wingsaloft setup. I also did the trunk popper and it works great too! Thanks Toby!

Question, the only tihng I did not do yet is pass a wire and connect it to the trunk light switch. Starting from the driver footwell, where can I pass the wire from, and when I do, how do I exactly get it into the front grille??? I took the grille out, was looking around for quite awhile, but don't know! I tried snaking it under the car, where the wire harness is, but nothing.

Thank you!!

Thank you all!!!!

We installed an elite last weekend in 6510. Skipped the trunk for now. Also skipped dome light because we were not clear on some of the wiring. Been meaning to contact Toby on that one. Other than that, works great once we figured out how to program it for remote start.

Like to help you but there are just too many wires and ways to mess up.

Roger that! Talk about a heartbreaker not knowing we had to actually program the remote. Not sure there was a more defeating sound than those 3 clicks and no start after a long day of wiring.

I only hooked up the door and trunk latch actuators...I am not fimiliar with the hookup you are trying to do. Why do you need to run wire up to the front grille?

You run a wire up to the front grill and past the trunk switch to create a "kill wire" to keep the auto-start feature from happening when the trunk is open, same situation as the wires you send to the door switch circuits and the emergency brake switch.

Acually mine isn;t for the auto-start, its for the alarm siren, when the trunk and engine cover are opened the alarm goes off.

That sounds better :bang:. I forgot all about the alarm.

Did you not run your actuator power using the black wire in the solenoid harness? It made for a nice wiring mod.

I have a Deluxe system with door poppers and alarm that I have not had time to install yet.

Can anyone give me an estimate of how long this would take to install?

I would like to hook up the door locks, door poppers, flashing lights for confirmation, and probably not install the ignition kill at this time.

I am assuming I'll be in the lower halves of the doors and the left and right electrical compartments behind the seats.

An overview would be nice, The box is currently buried in the garage.

It is very intimidating!!! I kept looking at it, before I installed it, thinking, should I install this?? It does take some time, and you should take your time as well!! It took me awhile. The door locks were the easiest and a breeze!!!

I am doing alot of work on my car! First thing I started with is getting everything on the doors working; new window motors, new key lockset, new door handles, adjusting everything, then moved onto door openers and door poppers/alarm unit. I took the whole interior out to do my work easier, and to check the car anyway since I am going to do all this work.

Anything I work on, I make sure it is either cleaned/buffed/polished/painted, whatever has to be done to be in better shape than it was at stock!!!

I just put the interior back in...

It may be a while then.

As best I recall, Sean and I started on the elite about 9'ish and finished up about 7'ish with no significant breaks. We skipped the trunk and dome light and didn't seem to have the valet button. Wiring could have been neater but fixing that is for another day. Overall, very happy with it.

I believe Toby said it is generally a 12 hour job for an experienced professional with neat wiring. Also, mounting location may make it more difficult. We chose to cut out some of the sound proofing and mount on passenger side. Hope that helps.

Take the seat out and expect a sore back the next day.

Perhaps Welmod will come for a visit sometime soon... This sounds like more fun with a friend.
