I am going to get new shocks soon. Im not sure what to get. Right now I have pj gradys front lower springs and rear stock springs. I was looking at the easy rider 1 and 2. Does anyone know the difference between easy rider 1 and easy rider 2?

thanks in advance

Well halfway down his page he says Easy Rider 2 is the same as 1 just a little stronger. http://specialtauto.com/delorean-parts/delorean-parts-kits.html

I got the Easy Rider 1 back in 09 as a cheap replacement to the rock hard originals I had. I don't remember how soft they were in the beginning but in at least the last year they were WAY too soft. To the point of the back end bouncing up and down twice to rebound from a bump. Horribly soft, like they didn't do anything to dampen the spring.

I replaced the Easy Riders with Spaxx a few months ago. Love them, I wish I didn't waste the $250+ on the easy riders in the first place.

In fact if you want my Easy Riders you can have them. In fact x2, I think the fronts are just a Monroe brand that you can get at autozone. I also didn't like the collar setup on the rears. The rings that hold the spring perches are just two ring halves that you screw together.

I got mine here:

Hervey sells them too, but the eurotec club is usually a bit cheaper. Also, Dave from DMC-Midwest said they are now carrying Spax finished in black instead of yellow.

I have blown easyrider shocks in 2072. I bought the KYBs but haven't put them in yet.

I'm not sure if they are EasyRider 1 or 2, or how old they are, but I somehow think they failed prematurely.

This is how my car rides with the Easy Rider shocks. They were installed about three years ago.

As you can see, I am driving on fairly bouncy roads; New Orleans has pretty bad street surfaces.

I do, but bear in mind I do not like "sport suspensions" -- some folks like feeling every gravel in the road; I do not. I love the feel of riding in a Jaguar or Town Car.

If I had the money I would equip my vehicles with Bose Active Suspension:

Ha! I haven't heard that one in a while. :)

Actually, there are other companies working on an electric active suspension. Lexus I believe had a hydraulic active suspension on some of their cars back in the early 1990s, for an extra charge of $1,200 or so. Mercedes has something similar on some of their AMG cars. That was just the first result that came up when I did a search for "active suspension." I think Bose, as well as a unit currently in R&D in the Netherlands, is all electric.

I looked up the Bose suspension and they actually use linear motors to make the suspension go up and down. Looks like it worked, but according to wikipedia (yeah I know) the system is really expensive and heavy. Might be an overkill solution.

Doesn't the C6 Corvette have some kind of an electrohydraulic suspension that changes with driving dynamics?
