I am thinking about drilling a hole in my ball joints and tie rods ends that are not able to be greased with a fitting. Has anyone tried to do this? If so how did it work out? That way I can keep them packed with grease so they dont wear out as fast...

It is relatively easy to drill and tap for grease fittings. Use plenty of grease on the drill and tap to catch the tiny pieces of metal or you will ruin the joints. Also you have to be careful about going to deep and damaging the joint. Alternatively you can use a needle adapter on a grease gun and go under the rubber seal.
