Other engines and transmissions that would fit a DMC?

Hey all,

No, I'm not planning to swap my PRV6, but I am curious about what other engines and transmissions can fit to a DeLorean frame. Sometimes I consider what I would do if my engine melted down one day and I daydream about a totally different engine/transmission combo.

Anyone out there know of a combo that would work? Would it involve frame mods? I assume it would?

Porsche 914 transmission would fit. A 3.0 liter PRV (even fire motor) would fit. Then there is the DeLotus (the Delorean with the Lotus engine) with a Lotus Transmission.
