Now can you post a "How-To" on how to speak French? :D

I could save the photos and translate the text. But if you have Google Chrome, it will automatically translate the text for you. :)

I posted something here on how to reassemble the switch without pulling it apart more. I threw it together rather quickly... but at least it's not in French.

I just did one as well and actually found the easiest way was to remove the lower half of the case - all the innards come out with it and you can rebuild the whole thing using these guidelines without needing tiny tools or tiny hands. Just pry gently along the outside edge of the case and the whole bottom will pull out.

So glad this thread is back. Now here's the bugger, I don't have the banana clip or the tiny pin. When I bought my car the switch was assembled but those pieces were not inside. I subsequently bought another switch and replaced it but I am restoring a new car now and need a switch anyone know if these parts can be fabricated and from what?

If you're missing internal parts, then I would suggest that your rebuild how-to starts with a visit to this link: http://store.delorean.com/p-7037-switch-rear-window-defroster.aspx

My brand new switch is in pieces, and was hoping to view these two links, but neither seem to now work. :dunno: Any ideas?

Never mind I found it here. http://dmctalk.org/showthread.php?10284-Defrost-switch-rebuild-instructions&highlight=switch+rebuild

Funny how you have to word things to get them to show up in a search result list.

I saved the repair guide from the French forum a few months ago (the pictures are self-explanatory and based on that I successfully rebuilt my switch), would you still need it just drop me a message.

Anyone have these instructions for rebuilding the defrost switch? I can’t read French. Thanks.

For future reference, I correctly repaired my switch the other day, and none of the "orientation" pictures ever made sense to me. Here is how it looks correctly assembled.
