DMCH has the later style exhaust tips for sale in bare stainless steel. How would one make them go from bare to brushed? Is it easy to give a nice brushed finish to bare 304 stainless steel?

Sanding paper would be a good start.

You'll need somde 60 -80 grit sandpaper first. The blending pad isn't enough to grain an ungrained piece of steel. At least not in my lifetime.

I used some sand paper on my exhaust tips but later decided I like the smooth finish better. Just went back with finer sand paper to remove the scratches.

If trying to add grain or repair really bad grain, you have to start pretty course and work your way down. I say 60 grit then work your way to a blending pad.
