Anyone know the story of this sad DeLorean?

Sad indeed because the engine looks beautiful.

The listing said it had a cabin fire. How in the world does that happen? I mean this thing got cooked in the cockpit and just burnt up the drivers side of the car. If it was the passenger side I'd possibly entertain the idea that it started in the fuse/relay area but it doesn't look like that. Somehow the engine made it out completely unscathed.
