Do the clamps require special tools to install?

We use one of these:

Summit is next door and we can supply this at cost with boot purchases.

If you look at our site we are freshing it up a bit currently. Main page is over hauled with lots to come. The store will be updated with these available in a few hours as well with a few other new items available.

I will also add the tool on the page as well. I'm thinking of including it in a 4 boot/clamp kit if owners would be interested.

I think its a great idea. At a minimum I'd say kits of two. I mean, if Im dropping a shaft down Im doing both "just because".

I will have it up there shortly in kit form then. Shipping anywhere in the states will be sub 10 bucks in a flat rate box too.

Agreed -- no point in doing just one since if luck holds you will need to do the other anyhow.

Can someone explain why the locking tabs must be replaced? And how exactly do they 'lock'?

When I did my boots I used the new tabs because they were there but the old ones didn't seem any different.

It all depends on who worked on the car. I believe the NOS ones are for two reasons. Owners really actually need one here and there plus there is probably a huge pile in Houston.

We offer stainless replacements as part of our commitment to make as much of the car truely stainless as possible.
