Seems to be a Delorean, but I'm not sure, to be honest.

Billy Rob carb is not far enough right, the carb implemention, to me is plenty accpetable.

I think more people have a problem with Bill himself, ergo his placement on the list.

It's also done to the level of general acceptance, not personal taste. I'd rather see 500 cars converted to carbs than 1 more BTTF abomination, but my opinion isn't an enforceable law.

+1. there are plenty of BTTF prop cars (some really well done), but i dont think we need anymore.

i see Bills carb conversions as a simple and economical way to get derelict DeLorean back on the streets again. isnt that what we all want?

will i remove a functional K-Jet from my future D for a carb? doubtful.
if i find one with a fucked K-Jet and myself with not much money (likely ), i will definitely consider a carb conversion to get her back on the road.

You know I was at the 04 carshow, and there were articles being written about the show that stated that this car was worth $500,000. Never quite understood that one. I dont care what you do to a DeLorean, it's not going to go for anything near that.

Also supposedly it has a digital dash. Anyone know anything about it?

EDIT: also the vin I believe is 10159

I just remember him saying in his story, that people came to his house with their ferrari's, and their Porsches, and their vipers always trying to "beat" his car, and they could never "beat" it. Never quite understood what that meant. I remember him saying that people from "the hood" kept trying to buy it from him and he said he never would sell it, because it would just end up impounded, wrecked, or vandalized and all his work would have been lost.

He kind of dropped off the map though didn't he? He was at DCS 2000, 02, and 04, but never since.

For what its worth I think Curtis' car is beautiful.

Dracula
03-07-2012, 05:13 PM
It shows a lot of work; whether or not its beautiful is certainly debatable and not a point you'll find me arguing in favor of. Though, the fastest way to win a debate is to attack the credibility of the opposing party. To wit, I submit that your judgment is flawed based primarily off of the premises that you're trying to entice women with a DeLorean.

Clearly such a thought pattern is indicative of a deeper level of underlying cognitively-impaired logic process.

Upon further inspection of the pictures I have to add that it is the exterior of the car I love. I'm not too keen on the inside but the outside looks awesome.

Its whats on the outside that counts, not the inside.

Now now now.....my girl actually DID come talk to me first because of the DeLorean. She flat-out came up to me and went: "Jeremiah, are you the owner of the DeLorean I've seen here on campus?"

It was truly unintentional, but I cannot help but wonder if we would have met if the DeLorean had not been around....:approve:

I'm not sure what is going on in the inside...it kinda looks like a Bed Bath and Beyond threw up in there. I would like to see more of the engine compartment though. That exterior...waaay too busy. Some of that "bling" needs to go. The color isn't horrible though, if you have to have paint.

I know one of the reasons that Curtis has not had his car at any recent DCS events
is due to the "stress" of transporting the car on a trailer, especially through mountains.

Curtis had a "trailer fire" incident while going through the mountains to DCS 2004.
Not sure if it was just a "spun bearing" on a trailer axle or if a spark from something
started smoldering on the wooden deck of the trailer, but it did "freak him out" a bit.
May not be the only reason, but it is certainly a contributing reason.

I recall I had two blown trailer tires going to DCS 2004 and Rob Grady had a few trailer
issues that year as well, while bringing VIN...502 to that show.

I had another blown trailer tire on the way to DCS 2010. I am glad that one happened
just after dawn (after driving through the night). I hate changing tires in the dark.

Later,
Rich W.

Your white, you wouldn't understand. It's like a black guy trying to understand stamp collecting and star trek conventions.

I like cars like this. It's good to see some non-white, non nerdy owners once in a while. Ryan, I guarantee Curtis would not have a photo of himself with 80s glasses on holding a fake hoverboard in any of his avatars (That's white people shit).

This thread seems to be headed in a bad direction. I for one wouldn't "customize " my car like Curtis but who am I to knock his choice in what is beautiful. Just like some people like Blondes over Brunettes.

Speaking as a non nerdy white guy, I spent enough time in Florida to realize the different tastes in automobiles from different cultures. For example if a Latino bought a DeLorean it would be a low rider and would be in bouncing competitions, with the wheels all gold. Hey who knows why we like the things we like.

So while I like a stock DeLorean if I had a second one I might go overboard and bling it up as well (maybe a mirror finish etc etc)
