yep me too ! its a weird one but having said that when i 1st got the car the interior was electric blue and silver carbon fibre effect vinyl !
needless to say that didnt last very long and its back to grey again now, however it does interest me to know what it would have been like when it was new :hmm:

Welcome to the forum!!!

I was curious as to what records showed a forest green interior. It definitely was NOT a factory option or a standard dealership option. BUT, like the painted cars, some just decided to do whatever to the cars. More than likely it was a custom job, especially with a vin as high as yours. I would love to see a pic though if anyone else has seen it.

I remember seeing pics of a red interior car someone swore was an option as well, but it was a custom job.

Mike,

Since you now have this car it would be appreciated if the New location was updated to the VIN list. The list shows the car in Normal, IL. Did you import the car from the US or was it a another UK owner? Btw you may want to contact the the keeper of the list and have him verify the Forest Green part. he may be able to cross reference official records. It's either an error or was custom done by the Owner and he simply added the info for VIN list updating.

When it was new from the factory it had either a gray or a black interior. Anything beyond that happened after it rolled out of the production facilities.

I didnt think it would be a factory option still a curious thing though, as for ownership, i bought it off another guy in the UK who imported the year before i got it, i will update the list, as i said before the interior on the car is now grey again, i will see if i can post a pic of what i was like when i first got it, in your face is an understatement ! lol

here is it when i 1st got it ...

Well done. I see you're well on your way to restoring it to having a proper DMC interior, but I still see some of that blue peeking through at the passenger knee pad. :)

I assume the dash mat is covering the rest? If so, good compromise.

yea that pic was taken about 3 months after i got the car (about 3 years ago), the passenger knee pad is grey now too, as for the dash top, i removed all the nasty colour vinyl but because of the glue used the dash wasnt it great condition but it was grey at least ! so the dash mat just tidys it up a little

Years ago, and I'm talking about right around 2000-ish, I came across a Delorean on ebay with a green interior. I thought the pics were just bad, but sure enough the owner dyed the entire interior green. He said it was (obviously) it was his favorite color. I thought he mentioned being a teacher or coach, or something. Wonder if it's the same car. How many people dyed their interior green?

I might be way off on this but didn't a few of the prototypes have a different color partial interior (like the carpet or maybe more)? I think I remember that one had a deep purple carpet... I think I saw this on a database? I would love to see some color photo's of this if they are out there!

this is a pic of the car from Eurofest last year driving round the original test track...

It's like the goal was "how can I screw up this car as much as possible?"

In the category of it still looking like a DeLorean, this guy wins. Will-I-Am wins otherwise.

I frequent the UK forums.

the pic I had was this one, and I could never tell whether the glass was mirrored or it is just the way the light hits it:

By the way, lots of nasty stuff has been said about the interior and those awful wheels... but it's only fair to acknowledge that the ground effects kit looks pretty nice. I might have gone a different route with painting over the black parts of the fascias, but the overall effect is really cool

It does look from your track day pic that the lower lip of the front spoiler takes some punishment though...

mec

Thanks for that its nice to have some feedback ! Yea the front spoiler has taken a bit of a beating ! Im in the process of repairing it again as we speak.

by the way as previously mentioned the windows were mirrored however its only the rear ones that are done now due to the UK rules on window tinting ! Grrr lol
