I am doing a revamp of the interior of my car, starting with the console. I will post pictures of the progress here for those interested.
The goal is to have an "expanded" console in that it goes all the way to the floor vertically and to the end of the footwells horizontally. It will also include a small storage space in the arm rest, and will be in multiple pieces instead of one, e.g. the middle part behind the shifter can be removed for access to the wiring there.
Here is a picture of the first template for the sides of the new console. I hope it gives an idea of what I am aiming for.
