I'd buy the one down the road from me, VIN 5253. It's just sitting in a private showroom, but in great, original condition. Body work, interior, all aesthetics are excellent, mostly rust-free, it just needs the usual overhaul, replacements, and recalls to get it on the road again. The guy who has it is the original owner and just keeps it around as a collector's item, I want to revive it.

Plus, that car is only 8 cars back from the BTTF A car VIN and was probably made the same day, so that would satisfy the fanboy in me.

I've always wanted the Gold Delorean with the black interior. Maybe the Peterson's Auto Museum will have an auction some day.
No telling what it would sell for though. I'd also like one of the pilot Deloreans with the windows that move to the side instead of up and down.

After having a painted one, my experience was that it's worse than a regular car. You not only get the same BTTF jokes, but the constant question of "Why did you paint your DeLorean?" as well.

My buddy in Jacksonville has 2 Deloreans:

A 1982 with the Island Turbo kit, 5 speed, grey interior.

and a 1981 Concours car, restored with NOS parts, and still wearing NCT radials. Flap hood, black interior, 5 speed.

Not a bad selection, and a 1962 Corvette Fuelie to top it off!!:race:

Realistically if I could have more then one, the second would be 530. 502 is totally out of the question but 530 isn't and it's just sitting there waiting for someone with the cash and enthusiasm to put it back together again.....kind of like Humpty Dumpty.

Do you plan on destroying the vin tags as well? I know of a company that would be interested in building a new car with those tags.
