You will get to eventually Karin. It took me over 10 years to find my Delorean. I left Red after inspecting car the first time with a huge grin just because I got to sit in a Delorean. I hadn't even driven her yet. I was smiling like an idiot on my way to work this morning almost 6 months later because I was driving Red again after 3 weeks of repair work.

Hang in there Karin! I have seen some good Deloreans come and go and each one tugs at my heart strings. You will have one someday, as will I. I was very lucky to have driven 3 of them and loved them all. Low to the ground, no power steering, and lots of fun. Like driving a big go-kart.

Problem is, my dad's business is running so slow that I may have to get a second job while I am in my current new job in website design just to keep the slim pickings coming in. The economy is just so bad, I dunno what to think anymore. Even my new job is running just as slow and we're trying to get new customers. I actually have more in my bank than my dad does now.

So the guys at work were picking at my Delorean again. They claim it is my midlife crisis car. I told them girls just don't go for Deloreans so they did an image search to prove me wrong. One of them busts out laughing and shouts "It's April O'Neil!" My mind went to the Ninja Turtles, it was actually the porn star. A geek that is a porn star...the world is strange. I will admit that I am old fashioned, but I am getting tired of tattoos. When I was younger, they were something guys did to cover scars or patches of otherwise bad skin. I did talk with two female non-owners, who came to DCS. One of them, closer to my age, talked with me for 30 min's or so about owning a delorean as a daily driver. She was good looking but, I didn't get a picture, her husband may not have liked it :tongue:

Actually, like just about every other DeLorean owner here, I do prefer to have someone "ask" before the sit in any of my DeLoreans,
or "ask" before they open the doors of any of my DeLoreans, ESPECIALLY other DeLorean owners (respecting other's DeLoreans?),
but unfortunately, that is not the case. For a few examples, just check out some of the photos on Kevin Abato's DCS 2012 pages.

Getting in and out of the D Rex can be a bit tricky and in some cases, it can be a little dangerous, especially those who decided it
was a "good idea" to jump down from the D Rex (after taking a photo inside) while it was in front of the Hilton, after it had rained.
There was at least one person who slipped and fell on their butt, and limped away more embarassed than injured.

I did have a direct view of the D Rex from my room at the Hilton, but it was on the 9th Floor, so I could not accurately identify many
of the people "sneaking photos" sitting inside the D Rex. I really do not mind folks taking photos in the cars, if they ask to do so.
Each one of the Ticket Girls asked first ande I was more than happy to assist them in and out of the D Rex, all afternoon (LOL).

Well, it was at DragonCon, and I was in a costume, so it was to be expected, but yes. It's always a compliment to be asked for a picture. If girls at a car show are "hired" or whatever to be part of the show, they should expect to be asked for pictures as well. It's when someone asks a random girl who is in normal clothes for a picture, that some may find it a little strange/creepy. But if they're already posing, then all bets are off. They like the attention.
