I thought I'd start a thread for people to showcase their best photos of their cars.

Is there a shot you are particularly proud of?

One that looks sensational?

Where you think you've caught your car's best angle?

In front of something awesome?

Post away!!!

here's a couple of my faves to get the ball rolling... all done with an ordinary digital camera set to auto mode...

nice! how long did you have to wait for the train to come by, or was it parked?

xbrules

Last weekend was the Fleurieu Steamfest of South Australia's south coast. The train runs on a 10 mile stretch between 2 towns. I spent most of the day chasing it back and fourth taking shots as it went past each way. the last shot had 2 locomotives together making it a bit more special...

what you can't see in the last shot is my video camera on the louvre capturing the train speeding past... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cTPoGASEew

You may indeed be right...the curb edge at the front is too crisp given that it isn't all in the same focal plane. Maybe the background was deliberately blurred; I don't think it's a composite though.

It's probably a miniature effect that many point & shoot cameras do today. It makes the photos look exactly like they were shot of a small model.

Thanks. The photographer really saw the potential in the location which was a lumpy construction site near downtown Sacramento, also it took alot of tries to get the fog machine to put out the right amount. I do wish I had attached my rear driver side quarter panel-door molding before that pic. its the biggest flaw you can see with the car, i suppose I could Photoshop it out

This is typical for Belgium!!
You spend millions of euro's to develop a big suspension bridge to connect the city of Hasselt with Eindhoven in Holland. When this 4 lane bridge is ready the environmentalists kick in and they actually pull it of that the highway will not be made becasue it runs close to a wildlife refuge. so a lonly bridge with no function at all. Now 20 years later the bridge is still there costing tons of money to maintain it. It is now only used for pedestrians and cyslists. Always tought it would be a cool picture with the delorean on it. So I ignored all warning signs, and had o move quickly to get this shot.
Is was used on the Dutch delorean magazine cover last issue. So at least the bridge was useful to me this moment.

Good eye, I'm seeing it too now - the door is reflecting different to the rear quarter, front fender, and hood?! I'm not seeing it in other photos though, or when I just popped in the garage to suss it out, so might have to suss it out further under full sunlight sometime.

Hey, I know Leon's - been there many a time.

I used to take my D to the old Solid Gold McDonald's cruise night and then stop at either Leon's or Kopp's before heading home. Those were the days!

Here's another shot of 1798 at a cruise night at Gus's Drive In in East Troy, WI:

Cylinder mowing, very nice :)

Good eye.

I suspect so. The house is in a golf course community and the front lawn looked like a green.

It's in a gated community and the guard was shocked that a DeLorean was coming through the gates, surprising given the quality of cars he sees every day.

I had an idea for a photo after seeing my car backed against the sun setting at a cruise night earlier this summer. Tonight I got the chance to try it out.

It turned out pretty well for someone not really knowing how to use most of the settings on my camera. The last sunset photo I took was over two years ago at about the time Robert (REB) passed away. He certainly had a terrific artistic talent, far better than anything I might come up with. I hope there is a DeLorean in a sunset for him wherever he is resting.

Here's the photo:

Not the best photo I've ever taken of our car, only the best photo I've taken of it in front of a gargantuan Mini Countryman after the DeLorean was first deflated by a giant arrow.

No, these two cars aren't photoshopped. One ugly parking meter did get removed for our viewing enjoyment.

http://dmctalk.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=21435&d=1376973575

I didn't know what I'd shot until I began to crop the image later and saw just how large a "Mini" can be nowadays. Outweighs a D by 100lb, is 15 in. taller but still 6 in. shorter.

The relative size effect is probably emphasized by the lighting thanks to a nearby palm tree.

Location: San Francisco waterfront with the SF-Oakland Bay Bridge in the background. And a very bright, striking piece of public art behind the D.

That is the new SUV like version called COUNTRYMAN. Ugly boxy thing! I prefer the classic old mini.

I remember when the first new mini coopers started to be on the road, it was 2001 and I was 12... I clearly recall that I was in LOVE with that car! They were pretty rare as well, and they were a kind of a status-symbol car I guess. Back then I used to think: "One day that will be my real car!", just because I thought that the "Delorean" was a fake sci-fi car that was non existent.

I was definitely wrong.

For a quick photo just put something heavy (or a hooker, previous thread) in the trunk with a full tank of gas. That will give it a nice stance with minimal effort.

I remember seeing this camera stick out of a window and thought nothing of it until I got a text a few minutes later. Nice, always loved the wide stripes.

Chris, let your friend Darren know his rear door latch doesn't seem to be "double clicked." Give it a little more oomph, or figure out what is misaligned/sticky causing it not to close all the way. You won't hurt anything if you put some more force into closing the doors... do it carefully of course until you know it's not jamming on something. My doors did the exact same thing until someone pointed it out to me (thanks Dave.)

Table games aren't really my thing...because I'm not that much of a risk taker...although flying 700 miles away to drive back a DeLorean I only saw on the internet that's only been driven 1500 miles in the last 6 years is quite a gamble!

Blackjack and poker are my poison of choice. FYI - Video poker has substantially better odds than your general run-of-the-mill slots.

That's awesome about the car - congrats on the new acquisition! You've had so many of them apart in the past, that even if a problem did crop up, it probably wouldn't have been anything that you couldn't have handled

A few years ago, a herd of D´s passed through our city, leaded by Germanys Deloman team.

The Corsa was mine though :P

Time to bring this thread back from the dead.

I had the DeLorean out for a drive a week ago and got few photos at the park right before sunset. My phone can do pretty cool panoramic shots so I tried out a few of those.

May I suggest getting someone's (if you don't own one) DSLR camera with tripod and retake those night shots!!!!!
The theme is MAGNIFICENT:worship::worship::worship::worship:
but your shooting medium did not capture the true possibilities!!!

I don't know why, but something always irritates me when seeing pictures where two franchises get mixed together. Like Iron Man sitting in the DeLorean time machine. Or a celebrity that had nothing to do with the BTTF movies. I don't know. It's weird to me.

Thanks!

I was experimenting with light painting and this gave it a smooth soft lighting effect.

I only stopped taking photos as the battery had died on the camera. :sad30:

Hope to capture the same effect for the front profile. Might experiment on some lights I have hanging around the house.

Unfortunately I don't own a wide angle lens, so this is as much as I can get of the car. I actually had less of the car exposed in several shots, like a strip tease.
