I leave shortly after I pick my son up from school. I'm bringing what tools and supplies I could a) anticipate people using and b) fit in the car with me. All that, and I'm really just going to be sociable!

See everyone in the morning! Hope the rest of the trip (and border crossing) goes well for you!

Oh man, that gathering is going to be great. Safe trip DMCMW crew and everyone else that's travelling. Wish I could have made it. Post some pics for us loosers (aka: ME) of the event.

Looks like the weather is going to be pretty nasty. Drive safe and I hope a lot of people still show.

How did it go today?

We missed you!

I don't want to steal any thunder from ODOC but Julee, Mike, Jason and I had a great time meeting so many people we only know from the phone. Love the Canadian hospitality. Here are a couple of previews - There were many taking photos, more to follow. Watch here and the FB pages! Long drive home now.

Great turnout - even had a gold car!

It was fantastic. The best Tech Day by miles and miles. Dave is so knowledgeable and very patient with a bunch of guys who have limited knowledge of our cars. Nothing was too much trouble. He was great. Julee was terrific. Even nicer in person than on the phone, if that is possible! She was like a movie star; every time I saw her, she was there with a crowd of people around her! Mike and Jason are very competent mechanics too. Wouldn’t we all love to have their job???? If and when the time comes to have my car worked on my professional DeLorean Specialists, it is nice to know that these guys will be the ones taking care of my baby.
A talented group of skilled people!

Hey Dave, you know you can't say something like that without providing a VIN! (j/k or course, but seriously, would like to know the VIN for our chronology effort).

I love to hear stories like what has been talked about in this thread!

Is the GOLD car painted or wrapped. That's one many have not seen before. I love it when car like that mysteriously appears that no one seems to talk or know about.

It was painted at a dealer when it was new and sold in Canada. I'm friends with the owner on FB.

Maybe you could find the VIN, then Chris?

VIN 17156

When I first saw it I thought it was the Gold Plated car, but it's painted. Not too shabby!

It rained like cats and dogs on Friday John, but only misted a time or two during the tech session. We even saw the sun peek out during the day! We look forward to seeing you another day!

VIN 17156

Thanks man.

For anyone else, if you know of painted cars, I'd appreciate hearing about it (and knowing the VIN). We already have a number of the more popular ones, but I'm sure there are many painted cars out there that we don't know about.

That was a great tech day. We all learned so much about our cars by watching Dave, Jason, and Mike . They were so patient with us as several times people would ask them questions while they were doing stuff. They didn't get annoyed and answered in a way we could all understand. Dave and Julee you have quite a good team there.

My favorite "Demonstration" was on Tim's car with the floppy doors. Mike and Jason pulled out some home made tools and adjusted the torsion bars. Before you know it almost everyone formed around them to watch.

I left Montreal at about 2:00 Friday morning, the drive to Toronto is supposed to take 5hre, it took me 6 and a half.

I passed Cornwall, and my Pionner radio (only 1 year old) decide to quit. when I stopped for gas, i decide to check for fuses. but the cigar light and clock still works...so everything is fine. Than I suspect the fuse behind the radio. I forgot the 2 pins to take out the radio. I decide to continue withou a radio. Well I won every argument I had with myself....

get close to Toronto tand it s raining like well, tree are waving in the winds, felt like I was going into a tornado with a Delorean..crazy me..

With the crazy strong rain and wind, the car leaked a bit on the passenger side. The doors seals where already ordered but not on the car yet. But I knew I had to changed them.

The tech days was simply wonderfull, Dave, Julee, Mike and Jason where great, and soooo nice. I learned so much and left with knowing everything I need to knoww on my own car, and how to work it.

Dave is an open book on this he will tell you everything you need to know.

Thanks to Chris C. with the gold painted car for letting me stay at his place for 2 nights.

Thanks to Mike B. for organizing this, you made it.

thanks to the DMC Midwest team, you rock !

What a great day !

left Toronto at 7am on sunday, and after 1hour drive the speedo went funny for a minute and then 0.. finally I will change that angle drive !!!!

Thanks to everyone for letting me be part of it.

Man I would have loved to be there! Where did you guys all meet up? How do we arrange Dave and Julee to ship their operation all the way to CA for us? :)

Seriously it's so cool that they were willing to participate. What a great group.

Thanks Julee, hopefully next summer (or maybe a fall tech day...hint hint)

That's what I was hoping to have done on my passenger door

I have seen a couple of other pics of that car and, not to get my color-wheel out, but would it not be more correct to call that car Bronze rather than Gold?

Its kind of in between, but I would consider it more gold as bronze is darker.

Slowly but surely, I'm learning more and more about these awesome cars. :)

17076 replies: Thanks Marty, it was a long time in the making and I was so busy in the garage trying to keep things moving I did not have time to do a final count.
Cars were coming in and out during the day and I heard we had 19 cars show up and even more owners whose cars were in various states of repair.

The DMC Midwest team were amazing to watch and truly a first rate bunch. We introduced them all to Tim Horton's coffee, "Pizza Pizza" Pizza and Poutine.
Seriously I cannot say enough about how great this day turned out... I think it will be fondly remembered for MANY years! The visit brought out many cars
and owners we have never seen in the club before.

By the way 19 cars in one place is a record for Canada.
