First delorean sketch working on my new Cintiq

Well after waiting forever, my new Autodesk Sketchbook Pro software finally arrived so I promptly installed it yesterday when I got home from work and went to town on my new Cintiq ( http://dmctalk.org/showthread.php?3889-Looking-to-buy-a-graphics-tablet-in-the-next-few-days ) I think it was pretty easy to learn and work with. Although I only have the basics down now, I couldn't wait to get a Delorean sketch going, and before I knew it, I was done with my very first tablet pic! I thought about what a Delorean would look like circa 1989 if the company had survived. Now I have the rendering out of my system, I am going to learn the software a bit and maybe set up some hot keys on my Cintiq...PS I put it on a Ergotron monitor arm and it works great! Always out of the way and always where you want it. I can't wait to really dive into the world of rendering. A friend of mine who went to majored in graphic media is going to teach me a few things so hopefully I will get better as I go.

Thanks! It's riddled with goofs and mistakes. I merged the layers before making sure the outlines were softened, and all "overspray" was erased, and I really didn't clean up my edges enough. I also made it too small to add detail, this was based off the Maserati Boomerang design. Fortunately I saved it before merging so I can always go back and fix the mistakes and clean it up, ( I forgot to add the gullwing door lines on the roof!!!). I'm sure my next sketch will be better, but I was pretty happy that I was able to teach myself the software enough to do this sketch in a fraction of the time it would have taken me old school mixed media....cutting the friskets for the airbrush work alone would be 2 hours. I did the whole thing in 3.5 and most of that time was learning the Sketchbook software ala trial by fire.

That looks great. How big is the cintiq? It has a nice large working area. Much better than the little bamboo I have. I haven't used my tablet in almost 2 years. I still prefer working with paper. Can't wait to see more. Keep them coming!

I'm actually moving away from the computer and doing more hand sketches lately. Just to mix things up.
