Wheeler Dealers was showing on Discovery HD. Now Discovery HD has changed to Velocity and they are not airing Wheeler Dealers anymore! When the show airs next week, could someone please TiVo it or post it on You-Tube?

Previews of the episode are now avaiable on the Wheeler Dealers website. You can now see VIN 3045 in action on the driving scenes of the Prestegious Car portion. DeLorean00 did all the up close shots where as I did all the driving by scenes.

Why would he replace such an adorable seal? http://selvavidasinfronteras.files.wordpress.com/2011/06/canada-seal-hunt-007.jpg

My manager lives in the UK and just saw the episode last night. He said it was pretty good. Hopefully somebody will post a torrent of it so we can check it out over here!

I couldn't help but laugh when Mike Brewer called DeLoreans difficult to work on.

It should be pretty obvious that wasn't my point.

I just downloaded it and watched the first segment... Mike was pretty excited about it (perhaps even more so than usual) and had nothing but positive things to say. I'll have to save the rest of it for the flight to Houston.

Here's a torrent that worked fairly well for me. It's in some funky mkv format, though:

If you watch when Ed was disconnecting the CV Axels, he did a no-no. Instead of unbolting them from the hub side as well, he just let them hang.

Well I wouldn't get to knit picky with the small stuff. The whole show was great. Very entertaining and NO disparaging remarks that heard. In the first Clip I did here Mike say the Original Delorean Motor Company was in business 9 years. That's a bit of a stretch. Even if you include all the development years back in the Mid- 70's to thru 82. He implied the car was in production 9 years.

Overall it was a great show. I was surprised that they didn't Dress things up a bit more in engine compartment. The whole thing was more like a watching an episode of "Flip that Car". Of course that is kind of the premise of the show. Don't do anything more than needed to make it presentable. I will say that £20.500 seems high for that car. but then I have know Idea what the UK/EURO market is for Deloreans. When you consider Shipping and Import duties, if there are any. That could be the typical going rate over there.

robvanderveer

Prices *are* higher here in the EU/UK. But import, shipping and taxes takes away about 90% of that difference. That is why Mike and Edd decided to import from the US to be able to make a profit.

There was a lot going on behind the scenes which isn't clear - for example Chris N's work happened *after* the sale and was a condition of it.

Only the very best original cars go for above £20k. In my experience, buying one in that needs little work makes for a smaller profit margin due to the tax. The cheaper it comes in, the cheaper the tax bill.

Or to put it another way, I try to add as much value as possible once it's here.

I really enjoyed that episode, I think that it did a lot to put a very positive spin on our cars.

The thing that I noted though, was that obviously the A/C wasn't working because he was driving w/o it while in the US with the windows down, and mentioning how hot it got inside. Was the A/C system not working, or was it just never mentioned?

Also, am curious if the seller ever wars or is on this forum?

A Van

Some of Chris N work was done before the sale, if you look at part where it's on the carousel you can see a small red sticker on the lower rear quarter panel, this concealed a dent which took an awful long time to repair, as it had been welded badly.
Chris did all he could before the filming of the sale then did the rest.
The a/c didn't work as it has a split hose, Paul Brackley changed it and charged the system, this then revealed compressor bearings shot, so it got a new compressor.

The rear seal was also changed after the sale was filmed at Eurotec.

They had to work on the DeLorean solid to get it to Eurotec, and it was only really confirmed in the final couple of days before that they were definitely coming

It's really neat to here the back stories and how Editing made it look so seam less. Yes is interesting that the NON working A/C was not brought up in the episode. None the less a very nice show to see for once. I can see how this episode would appeal to the UK/EU heritage. Unfortunately here in the States, GearHead shows is all about bolting on Flashiness and HP rather than restoration type work. Or should I say SELLING Aftermarket parts from Show Sponsors. Which is why you'll never see a Real Delorean on one of those shows.

It had a new windscreen fitted in the US but when the car arrived it had delaminated, so had a new screen fitted by Chris N and a set of outer door seals

Already downloaded and watched the episodes, but I'll record it an watch it again with the wife. That'll give her somewhat of a idea of some of the things I'll be doing to my own car.

I've loved this show since I first caught it on HD Theater! I learned allot about some odd cars, as well as great tips and tricks. The two most important being how to fiberglass the little wings on the louvers, and that Land Rovers aren't as bad as they seem.

I love Edd China, can't stand Mike Brewer. Regardless, I agree - the fiberglass wing tip trick was really cool to see!
