I have the fuel mixture unit out and ready for a quick cleaning before I reinstall it. (part of my big VOD job!)
How can I tell if the plunger is sticking, and how do I clean it if it is?
thanks
John

If it falls out it's loose. Clean with carb cleaner on a rag. Don't put carb cleaner IN the FD.

The surface of the plunger is very finely machined. Do NOT use anything that could nick or damage the surface and keep it away from any metal objects except the FD. Clean it with Acetone on a soft, clean rag. You know it is clean when it will fall out of the FD with it's own weight without sticking.

The pin is really kinda cool. You know it's clean when it just kind of 'floats' inside the distributor. Now that's a tight seal!
