The world's largest car show and car cruise will be extra special this year with an outstanding display of
DeLorean automobiles for the 30th Anniversary of the Production DeLorean. There is no better place to
display our DeLoreans, to huge crowds of people who have such a great admiration of John Z. DeLorean
and who enjoy seeing our DeLoreans, both on display, and cruising up and down Woodward Ave. This is
a multi-club DMC event, with cars from all over the Midwest and Canada. With over 50,000 vehicles on
and next to Woodward Ave and potentially a million spectators, this cruise is THE event for all gear-heads.
Helping to make this event extra special, our 30th Anniversary display of DeLoreans will be on Woodward
Ave. at the Bloomfield Hills Mercedes Benz dealership and we anticipate plenty of TV and radio coverage.
Contact any of the participating DeLorean clubs for a registration form or just contact Rich Weissensel.

Great event - went in 2009. Not sure I'll be able to make it this year due to friends visiting Chicago that weekend, but haven't given up on it yet...

The Woodward Dream Cruise 2011 will be the Premiere Midwest Event for the
30th Anniversary of the Production DeLorean, so if you have not already sent
in your registration, make sure to do so within the next few weeks.

As mentioned previously, the Bloomfield Hills Mercedes Benz dealership located
on Woodward Avenue will be host location for our multi-club DeLorean display.
This is a prime location on Woodward and we plan to exploit that in the media.

Local TV, Radio and Newspaper media all plan to feature the DeLorean in their
coverage of the Cruise, so do not miss out on this 30th Anniversary celebration.
If you are a member of a Midwest DeLorean club, contact them for more details.

The DeLorean Midwest Connection club and the
DeLorean Motor City club teamed up today for a
DMC Historic Tour, with several "new" locations
(from previous year's tours), including trips to
Cars & Concepts old location and Milford Stamping's
old location. At both of these locations, we met
previous employees of these companys that stayed
on with new or renamed companies at the same
location. Both plan to stop by our DeLorean display
at the MB dealership on Saturday. Great stories.

Photos to upload...so stop back soon to see them,
however some may not get posted until Sun. or Mon.

Sorry for the photo delay...too much to see and to do, over one weekend.

The weather was great, for both the pre-Woodward Historical Tour and for
most of the Dream Cruise (until about 4pm), so we got lucky this year.

I hope to get more of my hi-res photos downloaded (and posted?) later this
week, but I have a few iPhone images of the DMC Historical Tour, for now.

A huge thanks to Tim DuFresne from the DeLorean Motor City car club, for
putting together this DMC Tour (at the last minute) to help fill out our Friday
activities. While the museum tour was also very cool, I will focus the photos
here on the tour locations that had an impact on the DeLorean Automobile.

First, a stop at the old Cars and Concepts, Inc. location, where the DeLorean
Convertible Roadster sketch (and many other DMC sketches) were drawn,
for the original DeLorean Motor Company, back in 1981. We met a few former
workers for C&C, which work for the welding supply company at that location.

As it usually happens on these tours, employees come out to see why there
are a bunch of DeLoreans parked in front of their building, and, of course, to
take photos of the cars, tell their stories about the cars and JZD, and even
provide insight into the DMC project, from 30 years ago. (thanks C&C Dennis)

4323

The second location we visited was the former Kar Kraft fabrication building
where the Visioneering prototype was fabricated and assembled. It appeared
the building was vacant at this time, but that may be due to "Summer Break",
since the building is currently owned by a local area trade school.

4324

The third location we visited was the former Milford Stamping facility, which
was used for DeLorean Prototype Panel Stamping. We met a former employee
of Milford (Henry), who was still working at the same location since 1978 when
he began working for Milford in 1978 (stamping co. has changed hands 3 times).

I will try to get to the other photos, locations and stories, sometime this week.

Later,
Rich W.
