I looked over this car as much as I could in the few hours I was with it, I havent seen everything under as I had no tools or way to lift the car. I test drove the car and it drives well and feels solid, My test drive was short and I was not able to get a feel of it on the Interstate but over still I think it just needs a bit of work to be a fantastic driver. Vin4485 is a solid California car that has been stored most of its life, It was always a weekend cruiser.
As the title says, it's a project. Most of the work is cosmetic such as the fascia paint and interior refreshing, Mechanically I needs a few maintenance items and electrical updates to make it more reliable.
Incredible Body~ body gaps are very nice throughout
two tiny and super Shallow dings on the LFF (very hard to see), I found no other dents
Doors open and latch pretty good, need just a bit of adjusting with the pins and they will be perfect.
No eye brows or saggy fascias
Glass is great (tiny crack on the rear view mirror, glue)
all gauges work
most electrics work
Runs quite well and strong
Drives decently, Shocks are still strong, No suspension noise
Freshly rebuilt 3 spd trans and shifts great, less than 20 miles on that.
frame is a bit dirty but rust free
No oil leaks
new battery with cut off switch for storage
Flaws/ issues I noticed, parts needed:
faded fascia paint
Needs 4 tires (dry cracks)
minor coolant seepage in hoses
still running original Coolant bottle
Needs headliners cleaned and reguled
Needs seat covers and new seat hardware ( lost bolts)
generally faded interior plastics,
Cracked dash and binnacle
Power mirrors need work ( switch rebuild/cleaning)
Door lock module not responsive
A/C clutch doesnt engage ( still R12 and probably low or empty)
slow battery drain (faulty alarm system that needs to be removed)
needs some new radiator hoses
Needs new otterstat
Needs electrical updates
oil pressure gauge is very jittery but works.
fuel gauge is about a 1/4 off actual level
No muffler, just some 2.5" bend tubes out the back, having a conversation in the car at 3k rpm+ is not really possible
needs door struts
Needs lower engine lid stay and crack repaired in the cover
needs steering column bushing
needs trunk release cable repaired
Brakes felt okay but a full inspection is needed before serious driving.
Had an intermittent ignition failure during the test drive, may have been a loose coil wire as it did not loose spark after that was tightened up.
Overall this is a very original and complete car that needs a few heavy weekend of work to get it back to being a solid car that is ready for anything. It is ready for immediate sale. Asking $14kobo
