View Full Version : Electrical Strange directional flasher issue

Recently my passenger side front directional light went out. I noticed it right away once my directional flashed at super speed! Yesterday I replace both the passenger and driver side front light bulbs (I do everything in pairs) and they both light up. However, when the directional is selected for a right turn, it still flashes fast. All lights are illuminated in the front and back. No bulbs are dead.
What gives? Bad relay?

A couple of possibilities. Wrong bulb, installed incorrectly, bad connection.

Make sure you got the right bulb in there. I remember I accidentally installed a 1156 (single filament), and when I turned on my headlights (so all lights were on), my turn signals were on solidly without flashing. Installed the correct bulb (1157), and the problem went away!

I positively have 1157s in there.

That is weird. Try swapping out the relay just for the hell of it and see what happens.

I'm at the office so I can't check now.
Are there 2 separate relays? One for left, one for right?

No just one blinker relay for signals and hazards. It's on the drivers side below the dash next to your legs.

I just got my car back from having the front fascia worked on and both of my front signal lights weren't working. I pulled both and I got the drivers side to work but the passenger side is still out. I put new bulbs in as well.
