After purchasing VIN 16245 in January. I'm almost done restoring it. Most of the work was done be me and a friend. I kept a full photo log which I will post open completion.

Thanks for all the good information on here!

How did you tackle the brows? Did you use Grady's repair kit or change out the fasia?

Looks great!

Thanks! It's the original fascia.

My body shop heated the bumper and used metal bars. I called DMC Garden Grove and Danny said use a certain size (forgot exactly) it worked great.

My back fascia was very shrunken. My body shop cut and elongate it, making it fit the back bumper just right.

I really like the bumper black paint they used on it. Looks awesome IMHO.

I went with an off stock color for the bumper, I prefer a more stainless look to them.

It's getting new carpet and dynamat now at the upholstery shop. I was going to do that myself too, but these guys do all the top Hollywood cars, and it's pretty reasonable.

Oh I will! I've put many a few thousand into parts and labor, not to mention the original price of my D. I won't stop living the dream just yet. My future wife told me not to. ;)

Oh, I'm with you on that one! I kept doing the classic while I'm there I might as well replace <xxxxx>

I also had the back fenders removed and the rear pontoons and engine lid painted. Oh, the front trunk as well. It all looked really faded when I started.

Now I need to figure out how to clean the stainless. I've read 1000 posts, mine still comes out smeary.

The best method I've found for dealing with ALL DeLorean problems, including cleanliness is this:

The black is not paint. Its the plastic itself. Sometimes a very fine sanding will do wonders. 1200 paper or higher.

Actually it's painted. I think they just call it "bumper black" It's the best and most natural painted black part of a bumper I've seen. I can ask the body shop tomorrow.

not to go off topic but I just thought of the old Fenslerfilms G.I. Joe Public Service Announcement spoofs when you mentioned sanding the body... "Who wants a body massage?" lol

Definitely going to sand mine and have the bumpers painted at some point, though.

I hope you have better luck with the black paint than I did. Mine is flaking off.

Good catch!

I have not put them on and I might not. It looks so good without them.

I live in Southern California. The chance of being caught in sudden rain is pretty much zero. It's not my daily driver, I plan to drive it once or twice a week.
