My buddy Brandon needs to find a Bosch oil filter for his Delorean, but the number they had previously isn't available. Does anyone know of a different number?

I use the Bosch 72150.
Here is an Amazon link (http://www.amazon.com/Bosch-72150-Premium-Oil-Filter/dp/B000BZJL5E), but there are plenty of other places to buy them (including our vendors!).

Thanks Dave.
He is getting ready for an 8 hour drive in a few days. He needs to find something soon.

Keep in mind if he's using the standard copper crush washer on the drain plug, it will need to be replaced too. Otherwise it will start to leak with time. Normal vendors include the washer with each filter, but if you get it from elsewhere, you'll have to source the washer separately.

Can't find them anymore. That
Part number has been discontinued. I had the same problem recently and I didn't trust the cross reference for the superseded part.

What part? The 72150 oil filter? A quick Google search shows they are in stock not only with Amazon, but also O'Reilly (http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/BOS8/72150.oap?year=1996&make=Volkswagen&model=Golf&vi=1282508&pt=C0289&ppt=C0023) among other locations. Are you finding that isn't the case?

Yes, when u order or call somewhere is when you find out they don't exist anymore. I can't get confirmation from
Anyone that the new filter has the proper antidrainback valve, etc for
our application. I gave up and order from a vendor instead.

Why not ask DPI to throw a couple in the truck before they leave?

It was before he confirmed for the tech meet. And I really need to change the oil before mid October. Plan to do it this weekend.
