I wish someone would make an accurate reproduction of this tie. I would like this tie but there is no sense erring in a bidding war with James or anyone else.

It's up to 28 pounds already!! That's something like 46 American bucks! WTH?! Part of me wants to keep bidding on it, just to up the price in spite. Last time I bid on DMC ties it was a pair of them and it went to 150 bucks. A repro doesn't really do anything for me, it's the novelty of owning an original vintage one. But at the price? JHC!!

If I still wore a tie daily I would probably be all over this just for the novelty factor. Still, the bidding is pretty intense with still more than a week to go. I predict around 100-125 dollars.

Hey DMCH, you taking notes? Maybe outdated plug in mp3 players have had their run.

It's hard to replicate the feel of early 80s cheap polyester.

I have a company tie from another UK company of around the same time and Italian silk, they are not :)

You're right. They could make a whole run of these things, say they "found and old box" of them, call them NOS!

Or if they think that's dishonest, how about "New Build" ties?

Went for £113.11 ! Don't know who thought it was worth that much, I was hoping to get it as the crown jewel of my DMC memoribila collection* but alas not.

* As you may have guessed it is not a very impressive collection :)

If they were going to do that they should reproduce the 'board member tie', don't have a picture of it on my PC but recall seeing it in DMCnews and it looked a lot nicer.

Actually on the subject of memorabila I keep all of my DeLorean bits in a couple of these;

which I picked up a while back, but have no idea where they came from. Does anyone know? They look like the kind of thing you'd get as a special offer for subscribing to a year of mid-90s DeLorean World.

I believe this was a joint venture between Patrick Conlon (he's on this board) and another DMC owner. I think they were originally shipped and sold out of Cincinnati Ohio, but manufactured elsewhere. They were designed to be magazine holders.
