Plus you get to drive your Delorean on the track (parade lap), participate in the show, and watch Indy car practice around you!!

Hello DeLorean Owners and Operators,
Once again it’s time to start planning this year’s car shows and events. After last year’s smashing success of the Indianapolis Motor Speedways Opening Ceremonies, we have been asked to return. Last year was a real learning experience for its organizers and this year we plan on making it a much better experience.
From the standpoint of IMS (Indianapolis Motor Speedway) there is a minor change in the format. They are once again offering the lap on the track and the other perks and benefits of last year for the same $50 fee. They are also offering a $100 packet that will include a catered lunch, Pit passes, and access to a VIP tent. INDMC will be supplying soda but lunch will be on the individual.
There will be an option this year of two hotels. The first is the same Holiday Inn Express Lebanon as last year, however due to a local wedding; there will be no “group rate”. There will also be limited to 15 rooms or so, please reserve as soon as possible. The other option is the Comfort Inn in Lebanon. Our negotiated group rate is 79.99 night +Tax. Please tell the attendant that you are with Jason Sharkey for the discount. See below for contact information on these two options.

This year we are adding an additional event to our schedule. Beginning at 3:30pm on Friday, DMC Midwest will be holding a stainless steel graining/cleaning tech session. The tech session will be held at Jason Sharkey’s residence and touch on graining with a flapper wheel, hand graining, blending, and polishing. Next we will be meeting, like last year, at Arni’s in downtown Lebanon, for dinner. There, we will make any announcements pertaining to Saturday and will hand out IMS credentials. Saturday morning we will meet at 8:30 at the Boone County Fairgrounds. If you are arriving to Lebanon Saturday morning please allow a half hour to get IMS credentials. Drivers briefing is at 8:45 and depart for the Motor Speedway is at 9:00 prompt. After a full day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway people can leave at their own discretion. For dinner we will meet at a disclosed location, in the Lebanon area, TBA. This will be the stage for last discussions and goodbyes.


Last year’s attendance of 49 cars was speculator, however, after the response and feedback from people who found out about the event too late (or afterwards) I feel we will have 75 to 100 cars this year. I feel like this event could grow into a supplement to DCS every other year offsetting the 2 year cycle between shows. If this year is a success, we will expand the event to accommodate the number of interested owners and will expand on the tech sessions as well as other DeLorean friendly activities. $50 pays for one car (driver and passenger) to attend the car show and Indianapolis Motor Speedway parade lap on Saturday May 11th. This is the option that most have chosen.
If you would like to upgrade your Indy Car experience, you can do so by selecting and paying for the package on the form.

Check out this photo of the 50 car line up from last year before the police escort to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway! Don't wait! The April 30th registration deadline is exactly 2 weeks away. You must go to the link, print the form, and mail it and your entry fee to Jason Sharkey to attend. Again, you only need a $50 minimum per car (two people included) to attend the parade lap and car show. The original 25 rooms reserved at the Comfort Inn are full so another 10 have been reserved @ $99.00 for these last rooms. Otherwise there are plenty of other hotels in the Indianapolis metro area as many have already chosen. Are you going this year Nicholas? There has been a lot of activity going on with hotel rooms and registration compared to last year.
It is possible that this could reach car count levels near some of the past DCS's which is very exciting so I have to share with everyone I can!!

If I were in the country I would make an effort to be there, lol. Heck, if we were allowed to drive at full speed around the track, I'd reschedule the cruise! But it was a gift from a friend scheduled last year.

Dont worry, I'll still be at DCS 2014 (because if I don't, Ken will probably evict me, lol)

Just registered. I called in my registration since I was confused on which package to select.

I purchased one $50 package for myself and my Delorean. I also have a non-Delorean attending with my wife and child. I had to purchase an additional $10 for my wife, and kids under 12 are free!

Grand Total: $60. Looking forward to the event!

It was advertised that DMCMW (Mike) would be doing a Stainless graining and care tech session Friday afternoon at Jason Sharkeys House. So I would assume they would be Leaving Friday morning. I was planning to coordinate with Dave on there expected departure from the shop. (DMCFlux) Steve would like to join in too. Do you know anyone else in the chicago area that may planning to attend. Yes, we are planning to go, probably hitting the road Friday morning. We're may be looking for an extra driver for the way down (must be someone we know - it will be MY car.) DMCH is flying in directly to Indianapolis.

No. I again reconfirmed with Jason Sharkey, who confirmed it with the event representative.
The prices apply to each DeLorean , up to two people and not individual as the form states. This is how the pricing was last year. The reason for this special pricing is because they welcome the large group of Deloreans!

Jason and I have been made aware of some last minute changes. Attached you will find an updated schedule of events. The IMS track changed the times on up to push our arrival time up by an hour. This has us now leaving Lebanon at 0800 to be at the track on time. They have also instated an additional $10 charge for passengers in the car while riding on the track. Jason and I deeply apologize for this, and understand any frustrations/inconveniences this might have caused. If you see somebody that is not in the contact of this email please pass it along. If you could send back a confirmation email to either myself or Jason ([email protected]) we will compare that to a list of drivers to ensure that everybody is aware. Once again, I thank you for your patience and understanding."

When I ordered my tickets via the phone number, I was told they would be sent in snail mail in about "1 or 2 weeks." As of Wednesday May 8th, I still hadn't received them. I called IMS, and was told they had been mailed Tuesday, May 7th. :rolleyes1:
I let them know this could be a problem since many people are arriving a day or two early. IMS said if I hadn't received them by Friday, I could stop by the admin office, and they would help me out. Ugh.

Thank you Jason and Rick!!! If you did not go to Indy, boy you missed out. Just driving my DMC on the track, What a rush. Words cannot describe it. Great venue, great people, well organized. Plenty to see and do. Looking at all the quality classic cars, Able to go to gasoline alley, watching a Indy car go by @ 213mph. I am happy I got this out of my bucket list. Only bad thing that happened. On my way back to NY. My angel drive went south. Oh well time to make some repairs.
