The Swedish DeLorean Owners Club organises an event from May 9th to May 12th 2013.
It's held close to Göteborg in and around the city of Kungalv.

American owners probably won't come to the event in Sweden (too far and therefore too expensive).
Nevertheless many European DeLorean owners visit this DMCTalk forum and may have overlooked this event.
That's why an additional announcement at DMCTalk seems appropriate.

Those who want to learn more about Sweden 2013 can find information at the next URL:
http://dims.dmc12.se/index.php/accommodation/12-fars-hatt.html

DCN, the Dutch DeLorean Owners Club, has arranged a short-cut and affordable fare to Sweden with Stena Line (ferry).
The ferry shortens the distance between Holland/Belgium/Germany and other European countries and Göteborg by some 600 kilometers.
The Stena Line ferry sails from Kiel (Germany) to Göteborg (Sweden).

Owners who want to attend the Swedish Event, have to register at the DIMS website for both event and hotel.
If you want to use the ferry accomodation, or receive more info about the ferry agreement, please contact DCN by e-mail: [email protected]

I plan to go as well!!!
I have been looking forward to this event for a long time.
In 2 weeks I have a meeting and after that I can confirm, but I'm 95% certain to go.

Some Europeans go to the DCS events (I went twice) so maybe some of our friends from across the water will be joining us....

The Sweden trip is sadly over, but it was great.
We cruised thru Germany at 150Km/h, Welmoed and Nico went to 190 on some occasions.
In Sweden we had a lot of interesting things to see and do.
Pictures speak for themselves.

Now you can see why a black car stands out in an unpainted crowd :)
BTW Nico did over 200 kpH, I was a little below 190 kpH.

If warmed up fully the Cooper Cobras behave like reasonably "good" sports tires.
Speeds of 120-130 kpH in medium rain (very wet roads) was no issue.

Sweden sure is fun to drive and has a very nice countryside (at least where we have toured).

Jan lost his title of being an old woman driver, later acclaimed himself Captain Slow.
Nevertheless after karting he earned the title Chief Big Grin (the way he smiled each time he climbed out of the kart's seat).
Somewhere there must be a pic of his face to prove it. :)

Great pictures, especially the one with the church. Thanks for sharing

How many cars in all - 11?

How long was the drive?

As far as I know there have been 12 cars at the meeting.
From my country is was 1400 kilometers roundtrip, but one of the Belgians "did" 1800 kilometers.
Driving and personal and car pitstops together total 6½ hours for most of us.
These figures of course do not include the ferry (sea)miles.

Seeing pictures from my old home country makes me home sick! Sweden is heaven on earth. (Except from Sept - March; then it is the opposite :)

Do you have more pictures of this event?
Especially Nico's twin turbo DMC.
